What is a remote defense?

A Remote Defense job involves protecting digital assets, networks, and systems from cyber threats while working from a remote location. Professionals in this role monitor security alerts, analyze threats, and implement defense mechanisms to safeguard sensitive data. They may work with firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and threat intelligence tools to prevent cyberattacks. Remote Defense specialists often collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to improve security protocols and respond to incidents efficiently. This role requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, and familiarity with security technologies.

What are typical day-to-day responsibilities for someone working in remote defense?

In a Remote Defense role, your typical day often involves monitoring security alerts, analyzing suspicious activity, and coordinating incident response across remote networks and platforms. You’ll collaborate with IT teams and other security professionals to investigate potential threats, develop mitigation strategies, and document findings. The role may also require participation in regular cybersecurity drills, updating security protocols, and recommending enhancements to existing defenses. Working remotely, you’ll leverage virtual collaboration tools to stay connected with your team and ensure swift communication during security events. This dynamic environment requires both proactive and reactive approaches to safeguard organizational assets from evolving cyber threats.

Job description

Mallory Portraits | Fully Remote - U.S. | Full-Time, Monday-Friday

About Mallory Portraits

Mallory Portraits is a luxury portrait studio in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. We create fine-art portrait experiences designed to become family heirlooms.

We're hiring experienced phone sales professionals to join our Booking Team. You'll work with a steady flow of warm leads who have already expressed interest in a portrait experience. Your job is to turn that interest into action: book the session and secure the refundable deposit.

This is a high-volume, performance-driven sales role for someone who genuinely enjoys being on the phone, handling objections, and closing.

Compensation

Base hourly pay plus tiered performance bonuses -- daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly.

  • Most established bookers earn $66,500-$84,500
  • Top performers earn $100,000+
  • Additional team bonuses and performance spiffs throughout the year
Benefits After 60 Days
  • Internet reimbursement
  • 80 hours paid time off
  • 16 hours paid volunteer time
  • $250 healthcare stipend
  • 5 paid studio-closure holidays, when applicable
  • 3 holidays paid at time-and-a-half, when applicable
What You'll Do
  • Call warm leads who have expressed interest in a Mallory Portraits experience
  • Make approximately 100+ outbound calls per day
  • Work toward 30+ booked sessions per week
  • Convert viable prospects during the initial sales conversation rather than relying on long follow-up cycles
  • Secure the required refundable deposit at booking
  • Confidently handle objections around timing, price, scheduling, spouses, and commitment
  • Follow our proven booking script and sales process
  • Track activity and results inside our CRM
  • Participate in call reviews, coaching, role-play, and ongoing sales training
  • Own your numbers and know where you stand against daily and weekly goals
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of phone sales experience
  • Strong experience in high-volume outbound sales, appointment setting, enrollment, booking, or inside sales
  • A history of carrying and achieving measurable sales or booking goals
  • Experience asking for a commitment during the sales conversation
  • Strong objection-handling and closing skills
  • Comfortable making approximately 100+ calls per day
  • A warm, confident phone presence that still sounds strong on call 80
  • Competitive, resilient, and motivated by measurable results
  • Comfortable following a structured script and sales process
  • Highly coachable and willing to have calls reviewed
  • Able to receive direct feedback, make adjustments, and apply coaching immediately
  • Reliable and consistent in a remote environment

You do not need portrait-industry experience. We can teach you our product, systems, and process. We are looking for people who already know how to sell.

Backgrounds That Often Translate Well

We are especially interested in candidates with experience in:

  • Dental implants or dental treatment sales
  • Med spa or cosmetic treatment sales
  • Admissions or enrollment
  • Insurance
  • Pre-need funeral sales
  • Home improvement or home-services inside sales
  • Automotive BDC
  • Timeshare or vacation ownership
  • Financial-services phone sales
  • Fitness or membership sales
  • High-ticket B2C appointment setting or closing
How We Sell

This is a short-cycle, one-call-close environment.

Our leads are warm, but they are not automatically going to book. You will encounter real objections and hesitation.

When you reach a viable prospect, your objective is to book the portrait session and secure the refundable deposit during that conversation -- not create a long nurture cycle.

Our strongest bookers consistently book 30+ sessions per week.

Training & Ramp

Week 1: Paid remote training, including:

  • Video training
  • Systems and CRM training
  • Booking script
  • Objection handling
  • Role-play
  • Live shadowing of a top-performing booker

Week 2: You begin taking live calls with your manager providing active coaching, call review, and support.

Coaching continues beyond the initial two-week ramp. We expect strong salespeople to want feedback and continuously improve.

Remote Work Requirements

You must have:

  • Dedicated, professional home-office space
  • Reliable hard-wired internet
  • Backup internet access
  • Corded headset
  • Dual monitors
  • A quiet environment appropriate for full-time phone sales
This Role Is Probably Not a Fit If
  • You prefer relationship management over closing
  • Your recent experience has been primarily customer service
  • You rely heavily on follow-up calls and lengthy nurture sequences to make sales
  • You have not carried measurable sales or booking goals recently
  • Making 100+ calls per day sounds exhausting rather than motivating
  • You dislike scripts or structured sales processes
  • You become defensive when your calls are reviewed
  • You want a role where activity and results are loosely measured
Why Mallory Portraits

The best salespeople on our team understand that they are not simply filling appointment slots.

A Mallory Portraits experience results in artwork families will live with for decades and ultimately pass down to future generations.

If you are a strong phone closer who wants measurable goals, meaningful earning potential, active coaching, and something worthwhile to sell, we'd love to meet you.
