Job Description
Join Allstate's Litigation Services team as a Paralegal Specialist, where your contributions will be essential to delivering strong legal outcomes and exceptional service to our clients.
This fully remote role offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced attorneys on insurance defense matters, including bodily injury and third-party liability claims. You'll take ownership of the litigation lifecycle, from drafting pleadings and managing discovery to coordinating expert witnesses, scheduling depositions, and supporting trial preparation. With access to hands-on training and mentorship from a collaborative team, you'll build deep expertise in a fast-paced, team-driven legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage litigation files from inception through resolution, including trial, arbitration, and mediation preparation.
  • Draft, review, file, and serve pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents for attorney review and approval.
  • Prepare and manage written discovery, including drafting discovery requests and responses and coordinating document production.
  • Coordinate and schedule depositions, expert witness activities, independent medical examinations (IMEs), and other litigation-related events.
  • Order, review, organize, and maintain medical records, billing records, and other case-related documentation.
  • Prepare exhibits, case summaries, witness files, and other materials in support of hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Handle electronic filing and service of legal documents in accordance with applicable court rules and procedures.
  • Monitor case deadlines, court requirements, and litigation calendars to ensure timely and compliant case management.
  • Maintain organized litigation files, including claim files, discovery materials, expert records, and case documentation.
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, expert witnesses, vendors, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to support case progression.

Education
  • Must meet all applicable paralegal certification, registration, or licensure requirements as defined by Maryland state.

Minimum Requirements
  • 3+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in insurance defense, bodily injury, or civil litigation.
  • Experience supporting litigation involving bodily injury and/or third-party liability.
  • Strong understanding of legal procedures, including pleadings, discovery, motions, court filings, and trial preparation.
  • Familiarity with Maryland litigation practices and electronic court filing systems is strongly preferred
  • Experience coordinating expert witnesses, depositions, and other litigation-related activities.
  • Experience managing high-volume caseloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Compensation
