We are seeking a Regional Sales Representative to join our team! You will resolve customer questions and offer solutions to drive company revenue.
Responsibilities:
Sales & Customer Service
- Manage and grow assigned region and customer accounts through proactive communication and service excellence.
- New business development in assigned region.
- Process incoming inquiries, prepare quotations, and follow up to convert opportunities into sales.
- Develop strong relationships with customers/potential customers to understand their material requirements, timelines, and pricing expectations.
Order Management
- Enter orders into the system accurately, ensuring timely fulfillment and delivery.
- Coordinate with operations, logistics, and purchasing to confirm lead times, stock availability, and shipment schedules.
- Resolve issues related to pricing, order changes or delays, shortages or quality concerns.
Business Development
- Identify growth opportunities with new and existing accounts.
- Support management with account intelligence and quoting activities.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and customer buying patterns.
Product & Technical Support
- Explain basic differences among stainless steel grades, finishes, and specifications (training provided).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of inventory, mill offerings, and industry standards.
- Perform basic imperial-to-metric conversions for product sizing, tolerances, and customer specifications.
Qualifications:
Required
- 3-5 years of experience in sales, customer service, or industrial distribution.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, as well as CRM/ERP systems.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
- Ability to travel as needed for customer visits within assigned region, training, or industry events including possible international travel. Looking for a min split of 50/50 between travel and office/remote office time.
Preferred
- Experience in metals, manufacturing, or industrial supply industries.
- Basic knowledge of steel, stainless steel would be helpful, shapes, and applications (or willingness to learn).
- Understanding of pricing structures, freight logistics, and supply chain processes.
