Title: PB Coding Auditor
Location: Remote (Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming)
Compensation: $26 - $30 per hour
Contract Length: 6-month Contract-to-Hire (CTH)
Hours: 8am-5pm (Flexible)

ABOUT THE ROLE:
Our client is seeking a PB Coding Auditor to conduct detailed audits of professional billing (PB) coding, with a particular focus on complex surgical, cardiology, and specialty services. In this remote, contract-to-hire position, you will review coding and documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies. You will play a key role in ensuring appropriate reimbursement, identifying discrepancies and compliance risks, and supporting consistent, compliant coding practices. This position offers flexible hours, a competitive hourly rate, and a comprehensive benefits package.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Audit complex surgical, cardiology, and specialty professional billing coding for accuracy and appropriate reimbursement
  • Review ICD-10-CM/PCS code assignments and supporting clinical documentation
  • Identify coding discrepancies, compliance risks, and opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure coding practices align with federal regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational policies
  • Provide feedback and recommendations to coding and revenue cycle teams
  • Assist with maintaining consistent, compliant coding practices across professional billing services
  • Chart 3-5 charts per assigned coder per week and document findings
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • 2-3 years of professional billing (PB) coding auditing experience
  • Coding certification required (CPC); CPMA preferred but not required
  • Experience auditing complex surgical and cardiology coding
  • Ability to review and provide feedback on coding and documentation accuracy
  • Familiarity with ICD-10-CM/PCS code assignments and clinical documentation
  • Knowledge of federal regulations, payer guidelines, and organizational coding policies
  • Experience with EMR systems; EPIC preferred
  • Ability to audit 3-5 charts per assigned coder per week
