Job Summary
This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced database engineer with strong technical skills who is ready to take the next step in their career and grow into a larger role within an organization. The Senior Database Administrator will build and maintain the company's database by identifying structural and installation solutions. This position will work with database administrators and analysts to secure easy access to company data.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Database Security, Access, and Compliance

· Ensure database security and authentication.

· Design and implement least privilege and encryption on all databases

· Develop and enforce database documentation standards.


Availability, Recovery, and Infrastructure Management

· Manage and implement database replication and high availability.

· Maintain and improve existing backup and data recovery environment.

· Develop and maintain disaster recovery plans and participate in regular testing.

· Install and Upgrade database environment.

· Manage database migrations between systems, versions, or platforms.


Performance, Monitoring, and Incident Response

· Query and database tuning.

· Database resource management and reporting

· Perform Root Cause Analysis on database incidents and provide preventative solutions.

· Monitor database performance metrics and resolve issues proactively.

· Collaborate with teams to optimize queries.

· Perform on call rotation.


Automation, Maintenance, and Request Management

· Maintain and develop various database scripts and tools to facilitate automation process.

· Automate routine database maintenance tasks to improve efficiency.

· Evaluate database requests for implementation.


Reporting, Communication, and Team Development

· Provide status reports and submit them to management.

· Provide training and mentorship to others.


Other Duties

· Performs other duties as required to support the business and evolving organization.


Required Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent GED.

· Minimum of five (5) years of current related database administration experience in Oracle Server, Mongo, MSSQL, Maria and Postgres Databases.

· Experience in UNIX, LINUX, and Windows OS.

· Scripting experience using command, batch, or like processes.

· Ability to work with large volume databases.

· Ability to understand data models.

· Knowledge of data visualization and data migration

· Additional Knowledge preferences:

o Azure SQL Server Administration.

o Azure Synapse.

o Dynamics data models.


Preferred Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
