Job description

Do you want to help Healthcare and Life Sciences organizations transform their most critical data workloads in the cloud. AWS is seeking a Sr. Database Specialist Solutions Architect to serve as a trusted technical advisor to Healthcare and Life Science customers embarking on complex database migration and modernization journeys.

In this role, you'll combine deep technical expertise in relational and non-relational database technologies with customer-facing consulting skills to architect solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Key job responsibilities
- Design and architect end-to-end database solutions for HCLS customers, leading technical discussions on complex migration and modernization strategies across commercial relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server), open-source relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB), NoSQL services (e.g., DynamoDB, DocumentDB), and specialized database engines (e.g., Neptune, ElastiCache)
- Lead complex database migration assessments, performance optimization engagements, and architecture reviews, applying technical judgment to evaluate trade-offs in scalability, reliability, cost optimization, and operational excellence
- Provide strategic technical guidance to customers through 1:1 advisory sessions and 1:many enablement workshops, translating business requirements into technical solutions that address their unique challenges in the competitive database landscape
- Drive database service adoption and revenue growth by contributing to go-to-market strategy, creating reusable technical content (workshops, reference architectures, best practices), and mentoring field Solutions Architects through office hours and knowledge sharing
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including sales, product, and engineering to gather customer feedback, influence database service roadmaps, and ensure customer requirements are translated into actionable product enhancements
- Stay current with emerging trends in Database, Analytics, and Generative Artificial Intelligence technologies to help customers innovate and maintain competitive advantage
