We are seeking a Contract Data Engineer to join an agile delivery team and support the design, development, and deployment of data engineering and advanced analytics solutions. The role involves working closely with crossfunctional teams to deliver scalable, productionready data pipelines and analytics capabilities from proofofconcept through deployment and sustainment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Design, develop, and maintain optimized, productiongrade data pipelines using Python and SQL.
  • Support endtoend delivery of AI and advanced analytics solutions, from initial PoC through deployment and ongoing sustainment.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, ML engineers, and platform engineers to enable scalable, reliable MLOps and data engineering workflows.
  • Apply software engineering best practices, including version control, branching strategies, peer code reviews, and CI/CD processes.
  • Ensure data solutions meet enterprise standards for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Communicate technical findings, tradeoffs, and recommendations clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Troubleshoot complex and ambiguous problems, adapting solutions as requirements evolve.
  • Actively participate in agile ceremonies (standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, retrospectives) and manage tasks effectively within sprint commitments.
  • Contribute to documentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement of engineering practices.


Required Skills & Experience


  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience writing clean, efficient, and maintainable production code.
  • Handson experience with data engineering, analytics pipelines, and integrations in a modern data platform environment.
  • Familiarity with MLOps concepts, deployment patterns, and collaboration with ML/AI teams.
  • Experience working in a DevOps-oriented environment, including Git-based version control and collaborative development workflows.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in an agile delivery model.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, including the ability to work through ambiguous requirements.
