What you'll be able to do: Diagnostics & Data Systems Engineer - positions offered by Ford Motor Company (Dearborn, Michigan).

Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned worksite. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance from the worksite. Engineer and manage complex algorithms designed to automatically analyze vehicle data streams, critical for the advanced identification, prediction, and root cause analysis of systemic issues within the vehicle's integrated electronic and software systems.

Analyze system behaviors and potential failure modes to formally define and document the specific data acquisition requirements for onboard vehicle modules. Ensure necessary data is captured to facilitate effective analysis and diagnostics. Utilize advanced proficiency in Python programming to develop sophisticated scripts that perform automated data querying, collection, and categorization from large-scale, cloud-based data repositories (AWS and Google Cloud).

Perform meticulous analysis of vehicle Controller Area Network (CAN) communication logs to diagnose and isolate the source of complex behavioral faults and performance anomalies, informing the continuous improvement and refinement of the automated diagnostic algorithms. Execute complex queries and employ advanced analytical techniques on massive datasets, comprising millions of data points from the vehicle fleet. Identify statistical patterns, correlations, and unexpected behavioral trends that are not apparent through conventional analysis.

Design, implement, and maintain robust, cloud-native tools and analytical platforms. Provide engineering and quality teams with the capability to perform rapid root cause analysis of aberrant vehicle behaviors, significantly reducing diagnostic time and improving product quality. Location is 20901 Oakwood Blvd, Dearborn, MI 48124, previously 21000 S Military, Dearborn, MI 48124.

You'll have... Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field and 3 years of experience in the job offered or a related occupation. 3 years of experience with the following skill is required: 1

Diagnosing and resolving 12-volt battery drainage or warranty claims by applying structured quality methodologies (3-Legged 5-Why analysis) to identify the fundamental root cause. 2 years of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Utilizing Vector CAN tools to analyze Controller Area Network (CAN) logs, identifying data patterns and anomalous behavior to ensure network integrity and performance.

2. Develop scripts and applications for data analysis, process automation, and software testing using programming language including Python. 3.

Conducting testing and validation of complex vehicle systems to ensure functionality, reliability, and compliance with design specifications. 1 year of experience with each of the following skills is required: 1. Working with automotive electrical architecture and leveraging cloud-based diagnostics to support field service, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.

2. Supporting cloud diagnostics, remote telemetry, and standardized service processes. 3.

Working with 12V electrical and energy management systems in software-defined vehicles to assist in identifying and mitigating parasitic drain issues. 4. Querying and analyzing large datasets from cloud platforms, including Azure Data Explorer, Amazon Web Services (AWS) or Google Cloud, to extract insights and inform technical decisions.
