Job description

Position: Data Architect

Location: Remote

Duration: Long term contract

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Data Architect to establish and develop a Data Architecture within the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) team. Reporting to the EDM Leader, You will develop standards and guidelines along with a Data Architecture framework that delivers on data principles while removing bureaucracy., you and your team will develop architectural artifacts from reference architecture to logical data designs, collaborating with technical and business SMEs across the enterprise. This role involves close collaboration with senior leaders of various business domains and technical architects across EDM and Ops/IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define the data architecture framework and standards.
  • Design reference architecture and functional design of Enterprise Data Management solutions, including broader Enterprise solutions.
  • Develop key architecture artifacts such as conceptual/logical data models, data flow diagrams, etc.
  • Gain a deep understanding of various supported business areas to ensure solutions fit business needs through collaboration with senior leaders, business SMEs, and technical team members.
  • Provide appropriate governance to data design processes.
  • Work throughout the entire Development Lifecycle, translating business requirements and consulting with development and testing teams to ensure the intended design is met.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, with a demonstrated pursuit of continued education.
  • Proficient technical team leader with 5+ years of Data Architecture experience.

Preferred Skills:

  • Recognized certifications such as DAMA Certified Data Management Professional or TOGAF Certification Program.
  • Experience in a TOGAF Enterprise Architecture environment.
  • Experience within the insurance industry.
