Job description

We made history and now we work to transform the future - for our customers, our communities and our families. You'll see your work on the road every day, helping people move freely and pursue their dreams. At Ford, you can build more than vehicles. Come build what matters.

As part of our Manufacturing team, you'll help build the world-class, state-of-the-art smart vehicles we're known for. In our plants around the world, we're constantly developing new technologies and processes to further increase our efficiency. You'll get the satisfaction of making great products people use and love.

In this position...

Ford is building the next generation of technologies and capabilities for manufacturing - and data is at the center of making those systems smarter, safer, and more scalable. As a Principal Data Product Manager on Ford's Advanced Industrial Technology & Platforms (ATP) team, you'll lead the strategy and delivery of data products that power manufacturing technology products in production systems, robotics and automation, vision systems and additive manufacturing.

You'll work across operations technology (OT) and enterprise IT to ensure data is captured, governed, and delivered in ways that are secure, reliable, and ready for scale across multiple sites.

Location: Dearborn area preferred. Hybrid is expected; remote considered for the most qualified candidates.

At Ford Motor Company, we believe freedom of movement drives human progress. With our incredible plans for the future of mobility, we have a wide variety of opportunities for you to accelerate your career and help us define tomorrow's transportation. We believe that freedom of movement drives human progress. Ford Information Technology (IT) is shaping the future of mobility by redefining the transportation landscape, enhancing the customer experience and improving people's lives. Join the Ford family as we change the way the world moves.

You'll have...

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management and/or building data products at scale.
  • Track record delivering data products or platform capabilities used by multiple teams (not one-off dashboards).
  • Strong understanding of data product fundamentals: event data, batch vs streaming, data modeling, metadata/lineage, and data quality/observability.
  • Ability to translate complex, ambiguous problems into clear priorities, requirements, and measurable outcomes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder leadership skills, including comfort working with both executives and technical teams.

Even better, you may have...

  • Master's degree or MBA.
  • Experience with robotics, automation, or industrial telemetry data (uptime, MTTR, utilization, task success).
  • Experience building products for vision/ML data (image/video pipelines, labeling workflows, dataset quality and versioning).
  • Experience bridging OT and IT environments, including edge constraints and secure data movement.
  • Familiarity with governance and security patterns (RBAC/ABAC, encryption, retention, audit controls) in enterprise settings.
  • Experience enabling ML teams through well-designed data interfaces, training data practices, or MLOps-adjacent workflows.

You may not check every box, or your experience may look a little different from what we've outlined, but if you think you can bring value to Ford Motor Company, we encourage you to apply!
As an established global company, we offer the benefit of choice. You can choose what your Ford future will look like: will your story span the globe, or keep you close to home? Will your career be a deep dive into what you love, or a series of new teams and new skills? Will you be a leader, a changemaker, a technical expert, a culture builder...or all of the above? No matter what you choose, we offer a work life that works for you, including:
Immediate medical, dental, vision and prescription drug coverage
Flexible family care days, paid parental leave, new parent ramp-up programs, subsidized back-up child care and more
Family building benefits including adoption and surrogacy expense reimbursement, fertility treatments, and more
Vehicle discount program for employees and family members and management leases
Tuition assistance
Established and active employee resource groups
Paid time off for individual and team community service
A generous schedule of paid holidays, including the week between Christmas and New Year's Day
Paid time off and the option to purchase additional vacation time.

This position is leadership level 5 and ranges from $138,240-261,720.
Final determination of salary grade will be based on candidate's skills and experience, and base salary will be set within the applicable range according to job scope, responsibility and competitive market value.
