What is a remote data entry job?

Remote data entry jobs involve inputting, updating, and maintaining information in digital formats from a remote location, typically using a computer and internet connection. These roles are often found in industries such as healthcare, finance, retail, and logistics, requiring accuracy and attention to detail. Tasks may include entering data into spreadsheets, databases, or specialized software, and may also involve verifying and correcting information. Remote data entry jobs are popular for their flexibility and can often be done part-time or full-time from home.

What are different types of remote data entry jobs?

Different types of remote data entry jobs include positions in medical or legal transcription, web sales, education, and accounting, to name just a few. Your specific duties depend on the field in which you work. For example, if you work in sales, your job may simply be to type sales data into spreadsheets. Medical or legal transcription, however, requires you to complete more complex tasks, such as listening to legal or medical dictation and working to type out things like prescriptions, patient histories, or medical billing information.

What are some common challenges faced by remote data entry professionals, and how can they be effectively managed?

Remote data entry professionals often encounter challenges such as maintaining accuracy under tight deadlines, minimizing distractions in a home environment, and managing repetitive tasks that can lead to fatigue. To address these challenges, it's important to establish a dedicated, quiet workspace, use productivity tools or time management techniques, and take regular breaks to reduce errors and maintain focus. Clear communication with supervisors and team members also helps ensure expectations are met and any issues are quickly resolved.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote data entry professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Data Entry professional, you need excellent attention to detail, fast and accurate typing skills, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with spreadsheet software like Microsoft Excel, data management systems, and sometimes basic knowledge of database tools is typically required. Strong organization, self-motivation, and communication skills help set top performers apart in remote settings. These abilities ensure data integrity, efficient workflow, and reliable collaboration in a virtual work environment.

Job description

About Voyager Access

Voyager Access is a nationwide installer and provider of Salto keyless entry and access control systems, proudly serving hospitality and multifamily properties across the U.S. We’re a second-generation, family-owned company with over 25 years in business — built on two things: technical excellence and exceptional customer service. As we grow, we’re hiring people who hold themselves to that same standard.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for a hungry, relationship-savvy Sales Representative to join our growing team. This is a full-cycle sales role — you’ll own opportunities from first conversation to signed contract, working across both multifamily and hospitality markets. You’ll partner closely with our Sales Director, who brings deep long-term relationships and strategic pipeline development. Your job is to activate that pipeline, create urgency, and close.
If you’re the kind of person who gets energized by a competitive deal, tracks your own numbers, and asks for the business — this role was built for you.
What You’ll Do

• Own the full sales cycle for assigned opportunities across multifamily and hospitality segments
• Close warm opportunities transferred from the Sales Director and source your own pipeline through disciplined outreach
• Conduct 75+ outbound touchpoints per week — calls, emails, LinkedIn, and in-person
• Maintain a qualified personal pipeline of $6–8M once fully ramped
• Partner with our Estimator to deliver accurate, compelling proposals — and then present and close them
• Build genuine relationships with decision-makers at ownership groups, property management firms, and hospitality operators
• Keep Pipedrive updated, accurate, and current at all times — clean data is essential
• Hand off closed deals with complete project information so our Operations team can deliver seamlessly

What We’re Looking For

Experience:
• 3–8 years of B2B field sales experience
• Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota — with specific numbers to back it up
• Background in access control, AV/tech integration, property technology, commercial security, hospitality, construction, or a related industry preferred
• Experience with consultative sales cycles (2 weeks to 2 years) — not purely transactional
Skills & Approach:
• Motivated by commission, measurable results, and winning competitive deals
• Able to build genuine relationships with technically sophisticated buyers
• Disciplined CRM habits — you maintain your pipeline, not just your close list
• Direct communicator who can present a proposal and ask for the business with confidence
• Self-starter who generates their own energy and doesn’t need structure to stay productive

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Salary: Competitive, commensurate with experience
• Commission: Tiered with accelerators — rates increase as your annual signed revenue grows. The more you win, the more you make. Uncapped above quota.
• Retirement Plan: Eligible after 3 months (employee contributions and company profit sharing)
• Paid Holidays & PTO: Follows company schedule
• Equipment: Laptop, mobile device, and travel essentials provided

Location & Schedule

• Open to candidates throughout the continental US
• Remote with regular field activity — expected in-market with customers and prospects frequently
• Travel up to 50% for customer sites, partner meetings, and industry events
• Full-time, exempt position — Monday–Friday core hours with flexibility for customer schedules and deal timelines
