This is a remote position.

GCI Services, Inc. is seeking a Remote Part-Time Data Entry Clerk to support accurate recordkeeping across customer information, construction projects, service requests, vendor records, purchasing activity, and general administrative data.

This position supports the information generated throughout residential and commercial construction, remodeling, repair, and maintenance work. The Data Entry Clerk will enter approved information, review records for accuracy, organize supporting documents, and keep internal tracking files current so project and administrative teams have dependable information available when needed.

Project and Service Records: Enter and maintain customer names, job locations, project descriptions, service requests, reference numbers, work status, and other approved project information in company systems and tracking files.

Customer and Vendor Information: Update contact information, account details, communication notes, and other approved records for customers, vendors, suppliers, and business contacts. Review information for completeness before saving changes.

Work Order Data: Record details related to remodeling, repairs, maintenance, and other service activity. Keep work order information current as approved scheduling, status, and completion updates are received.

Estimate and Project Documentation: Organize estimate information, project notes, supporting records, change documentation, and other job-related files. Make sure documents are assigned to the correct customer or project record.

Purchasing and Material Records: Enter approved purchase details, material descriptions, quantities, supplier references, and related job information. Help maintain clear records connecting purchases and materials to the appropriate project.

Spreadsheet and Tracking Updates: Maintain spreadsheets and internal tracking systems used for active projects, pending work, completed services, customer records, and other operational information. Follow established formats so records remain consistent.

Data Verification and Accuracy Review: Check completed entries for duplicate records, missing fields, incorrect dates, inconsistent information, and formatting problems. Report unclear information to the appropriate team member before making changes.

Digital Document Management: Organize project records, customer files, vendor documents, reports, and other business information in assigned digital folders. Follow company procedures for file naming, storage, and record organization.

Administrative Reporting Support: Assist with routine summaries and internal reports related to project activity, service requests, vendor records, purchasing information, and incomplete documentation.

Confidential Information Handling: Handle customer, project, vendor, and company information responsibly. Follow established procedures for secure access, storage, and remote record management.


Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong attention to detail and consistent data-entry accuracy

• Comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, or similar spreadsheet software

• Working knowledge of email, shared drives, digital folders, and web-based business systems

• Ability to enter numerical and written information accurately and consistently

• Strong organizational and digital file-management skills

• Clear written communication and dependable follow-through

• Ability to follow written procedures and complete assigned work within established deadlines

• Ability to review records for missing information, duplicate entries, incorrect dates, and other common data issues

• Ability to work independently and maintain consistent productivity in a remote environment

• Previous exposure to remote work, customer support, office support, project support, clerical work, or another computer-based position is helpful
