We are looking for a Pre-Sales System Engineer to join us locally in the Santa Clara Valley of Northern CA. An HPE Networking Pre-Sales Systems Engineer primarily provides pre-sales technical support for the development and implementation of complex solutions created to meet and exceed our customer's business requirements. As a Pre-Sales/Systems Engineer, the SE will be responsible for managing pre-sales technical / functional support to existing and prospective clients while ensuring customer satisfaction with the technical sales process and solution deployment. With a proven track record of successful sales support activity, the Systems Engineer will present and articulate the capabilities and values of a HPE Solution as it relates to our customer business requirements and versus that of our competitors. The preferred candidate will have career level experience with networking infrastructure technologies in all arenas.

The SE will work with HPE's Territory Managers to qualify opportunities and convert leads into successful engagements. The Systems Engineer must combine excellent sales support, and consultative skills with an expert understanding of advanced and emerging technologies with an emphasis on datacenter, campus and distributed branch networks. The Systems Engineer will consult with their assigned Territory Manager to provide a comprehensive technical sales pitch to prospective clients.

This Systems Engineer will proactively support an opportunity pipeline and drive through the sales process to closure. This career level position requires the ability to lead in a team environment and to collaborate on the development of innovative, tailored solutions for both clients and prospects. This Systems Engineer must know how to gather the client data required to effectively tailor a solution. Solution selling is a must, and this SE needs to understand the various ways a solution may be delivered and have the ability to anticipate what will work best for a given client. By combining technical expertise with business acumen this role provides vital, detailed information about how HPE Networking solutions deliver business value to our clients.

  • Creating and defining a Technological Roadmap on pre-assigned clients, with a huge focus on the priority areas of HPE Networking.
  • Creating and documenting technology solutions and proposals designed to meet your customer's business requirements.
  • Implementing and supporting customer Proof of Concept engagements, proving that HPE technical solutions meet and exceed customer business requirements.
  • Maintaining knowledge of competitive solution offerings allowing you to strategically position the correct HPE products and highlight HPE differentiators and advantages.
  • Interfacing with both internal and external/industry experts to anticipate customer needs and facilitate solutions development.
  • Participating in proposal development and supporting the technical aspects related to deal closure in complex and competitive deal pursuit situations.
  • Building and developing meaningful relationships based on technical expertise and business acumen.
  • Understanding the HPE channel and creating relationships, with HPE partners, to increase sales via the channel.

If you...

  • Have a Bachelor's Degree in computer engineering or related field OR have significant experience in networking technical and pre-sales activities roles.
  • Have a minimum of 5+ years of technical professional, pre-sales/post-sales, work experience.
  • Have extensive experience in Networking including routing, switching, Wi-Fi, security, SASE and Network Management platforms, both on Premises and in Cloud.
  • Hold specific Networking certifications (Aruba (Professional), Juniper (JNCIE), Cisco (CCIE), etc).
  • Have experience in Network Access Security including HPE Aruba Clearpass, Juniper Access Assurance, Cisco ISE, Forescoute etc.
  • Are experienced in creating solution sales offerings spanning multiple product and service portfolios in a very competitive market.
  • Are an effective, articulate, communicator with strong customer-facing skills and able to translate product knowledge into customer's added business value.
  • Want to work within a team in a very competitive market, maintaining a hands-on, customer first, approach towards your business plan execution.
