The Marketing Data Engineer focuses on the design, deployment, and hands-on management of the Global Analytics cloud-based data architecture and integrations. This role provides technical expertise in building and maintaining cloud-based data architecture, infrastructure, and API integrations that support BI applications and marketing analytics initiatives, evaluating current data and platform architectures to improve efficiencies, and analyzing projects needed to close the gap between current state and future business goals.

What You'll Do

  • Provides marketing analytics infrastructure / process gap analysis and recommendations.

  • Conducts research on state of the art in marketing analytics technology.

  • Ensures that business processes, policies, and procedures are supported by proposed system solutions.

  • Ensures metadata accuracy and transparency.

  • Develops and maintains technical documentation for systems and processes.

  • Own and maintain the marketing GCP environment, ensuring pipelines are reliable, orchestrated (Cloud Composer / Airflow), well-structured, and monitored for failures.

  • Ownership includes the ability to make largely independent decisions on solution design, architecture, and best practices required to support marketing analytics outcomes.

  • Build and maintain API integrations between marketing platforms and Domo, such as ad platforms, survey tools and other connected systems.

  • Handle authentication, pagination, rate limiting, and error handling for all managed integrations.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline failures, proactively identifying opportunities to improve performance and reduce technical debt.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or related course of study requiredor equivalent work experience. Related Master's Degree a plus.

  • 5+ years (7+ years preferred) working experience in data engineering, architecture, or cloud platform management, strong experience with metadata management, master data management, and data governance.

  • Previous analytic work with business intelligence, corporate reporting metrics and dashboard systems, data warehousing, information infrastructure, and ETL processes.

  • Good communication skills - must be able to explain relatively complex analyses in ways that are understandable and actionable to marketing stakeholders, must be able to clearly articulate both strategic direction and tactical actions to Professional/Management Levels, IT team, and marketing stakeholders.

  • Detail oriented with excellent analytical ability, must be able to clearly work with marketing program owners to determine business needs and requirements and then translate that into research and reporting requirements for internal teams and external vendors.

  • Ability to work independently and set priorities based on high level direction of the Director of Data Engineering in Global Marketing Analytics.

  • Excellent understanding of Python, SQL, Solid ETL processes experience.

  • Understanding of cloud-based information systems.

  • Proficiency in data management tools.

  • Solid database design and data maintenance skills.

  • Strong Project management skills and Presentation skills.

The typical hourly pay rate for this position is shown below and is negotiable depending upon experience and location.

$52.40 - $79.33
