Job description

Our team is responsible for executing the technology portion of the Data Strategy IT pillar. This team will work closely with technology leaders, the Data & Analytics business team and industry partners to implement new solutions for data reporting and analytics, data governance and management, and data engineering. The Cloud Data Engineering team within Data Engineering will oversee the analysis, development, implementation, and performance of our new cloud-based data solutions. This work is reflective of a significant technology inflection point as it reflects moving our data solutions from a back-office function primarily supporting reporting to one in which our data assets are the core representation of the state of our business.This is your opportunity to be a part of the leadership team that will deliver on these strategic imperatives.
As a leader with people responsibilities, you will be responsible for creating a positive environment for team member development and growth.This includes supporting your team members' career aspirations, and leading with diversity, equity, and inclusion intent.This position will require the ability to maintain timely and transparent communications and exercise frequent expectations management with team members. You will build future leaders, inspire the teams, and create an environment of strong employee engagement.
You will be responsible for ensuring priorities are understood and adhered to on the efforts the team is engaged.You will also be responsible for building relationships with the other IT managers supporting the Domain and/or requiring data, so as to ensure project deadlines are met, tightly coupled release management methodologies exist with the applications, requirements are documented, thorough functional and performance testing is completed, high quality code deployments are routine, applications are well documented, alerting and monitoring is implemented throughout the data pipeline process, data ingestion and ETL processes perform at the highest levels and Domains are supported 24x7 at the highest levels. Additionally, you will be collaborating with the Data Engineering DevOps team on the development of KPIs to elevate the availability and usability of the Data Services we provide.
Execute strategic and tactical direction for the Cloud Data Engineering team's domain related to staffing, products, support, and delivery
Collaborate with Business and IT Leaders to drive out priorities for domain across multiple programs and projects
Manage teams performing analysis, design, development, testing, and support of data acquisition, integration, and serving applications to deliver high quality data assets and services used across Company
Build, develop, and execute project plans across multiple initiatives
Work on small to medium sized Product Optimization efforts for the EDL solutions
Build and maintain relationships with counterparts in the other IT Solution teams that are leveraging solutions and data assets
Mentor and develop members of the Cloud Data Engineering Team
Qualifications
Required:
Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future
Must reside in St. Louis, Missouri, or immediate surrounding area with ability to come onsite as needed
6+ years of related experience
2+ years of success leading teams within a large enterprise IT organization
Experience in people management activities, including career planning/support, training, interviewing, hiring, rewarding, disciplining, and performance and salary review.
Excellent analytical skills as proven through past success with multiple projects delivery
Experience in agile methodology
Experience working in cloud data engineering or data warehouse and reporting environment
Proven leadership of application development teams with experience in processing high transaction workloads of mission critical applications
Knowledge and familiarity with data engineering concepts and trends
Excellent knowledge of project management concepts, from planning and inception, through implementation and support
Proven leadership, results orientation, and self-motivation traits
Superb communication skills - both written and verbal designed to engage an audience across a broad range of technical expertise and/or business acumen
Demonstrate analytical skills with the ability to use data for effective story telling
High degree of collaboration skills; works well with others as it relates to generating ideas
Demonstrated ability to quickly comprehend a broad array of initiatives to direct Project Scope, Requirements Gathering and Change Management to meet changing Business and IT objectives
Strong skills and experience mentoring and developing IT professionals, to ensure the team's success and enable the employees to achieve their career goals
Must be committed to incorporating security into all decisions and daily job responsibilities
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
Experience with Microsoft Azure technologies
Experienced in designing, developing, deploying cloud-based solutions which leverage cloud native platforms.
