Join Our Team as a Category Manager at Epiroc! 

Epiroc is seeking a highly motivated and strategic Category Manager to join our Industrial Tools & Attachments- Sourcing & Procurement team. This key role will lead sourcing strategy and execution across various direct material categories, with a focus on metal fabrication, welded parts, finished goods, and sub-assemblies. 

You will collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, project management, finance, operations, and legal teams to ensure timely, cost-effective, and compliant sourcing solutions that align with capital project and operational goals supporting and driving revenue growth for the business line. 

Work Type: This position is a remote opportunity for U.S.-based candidates who live within commuting distance of Ooltewah, TN; Delhi, IA; or Dexter, MI. Please note that visa or work sponsorship is not available for this role. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business goals, project timelines, and global sourcing roadmaps.   
  • Lead full-cycle sourcing activities, including market analysis, supplier selection, negotiations, and contract execution.   
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, engineering, finance, supply chain, and legal to identify opportunities and drive procurement excellence.   
  • Optimize direct material costs (targeting 5% annual savings) through strategic sourcing, benchmarking, and value engineering.  
  • Monitor market trends, pricing, and risks to inform data-driven procurement decisions.   
  • Build and manage supplier relationships focused on performance, innovation, and long-term value.   
  • Lead initiatives such as make-vs-buy analysis, LCC sourcing, supplier relocation, and sustainability efforts.   
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.   
  • Support the creation and negotiation of standard contracts and supplier performance management through KPIs and scorecards. 
  • Travel (up to 5%) for supplier and multi-site visits  
 

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $105,000 and $120,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. This range reflects our commitment to fair pay based on skills, experience, and market standards. 

Knowledge/Education: 

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, Business Administration, or related field. Engineering degree is a plus. 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in strategic sourcing or procurement, with strong knowledge of metal/steel categories. 
  • Strong understanding of contract types (e.g., safety stock agreements, consignment, MPAs). 
  • Solid analytical, program management, and problem-solving capabilities. 
  • Professional certifications such as CIPS, CPSM, or PMP are preferred.
 

Skills and Abilities: 

  • Proven negotiation skills and experience managing complex sourcing projects. 
  • Effective communicator with strong stakeholder engagement and project management skills.
