Under limited to broad supervision, the GEMSIS System Administrator coordinates, manages, and monitors the various GEMSIS software and data repository systems for EMS and the Systems of Care. Provides supervision, technical assistance and training to licensees and designated hospitals within the state.
Job Responsibilities- Provides technical assistance for all GEMSIS systems to licensed agencies and personnel.
- Provides necessary training for any reporting agency using GEMSIS.
- Provides necessary training for any agency wanting to use the reporting and other data analytic tools provided in GEMSIS databases.
- Monitors data import and export errors.
- Prepares any and all required reports for distribution.
- Develops any and all ad-hoc reports, as necessary.
- Presents data at conferences and meetings when needed.
- Assists with data collection manuals, policies, procedures and creates EMS documentation guidance recommendations for EMS agencies.
- Assists EMS-C and Systems of Care programs with data collection requirements.
- Understands and ensures privacy law and standards.
- Attends and participates in related data meetings around the state (Trauma, Stroke, Injury Prevention, etc.) and nationally.
- Participates in NASEMSO and NEMSIS Data Manager Meetings.
- Assist with updates, scheduling and monitoring of Department communication platforms.
- Provides on-going supervision, consultation and technical assistance to the EMS community and others.
- May work with other agencies in disaster data analysis.
- All other duties as assigned
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of experience performing work related to area of assignment or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Healthcare Program Consultant 2 (HCP091) or position equivalent.
Note: Some positions may require licensure.
Preferred Qualifications:- Knowledge of EMS systems
- Knowledge of the GEMSIS and NEMSIS data standards (NEMSIS Version 2 and Version 3)
- Knowledge of report building, data analysis and reporting
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Seven years of experience performing work related to area of assignment.
