What is a remote data collection driver?

Remote Data Collection Drivers are professionals who operate vehicles equipped with specialized sensors or devices to gather data for various purposes, such as mapping, traffic analysis, or infrastructure assessment. Unlike traditional drivers, their primary responsibility is to follow predetermined routes while ensuring accurate data collection, often working independently and reporting findings digitally. This role may include using GPS equipment, cameras, or other technology to record information, and it often allows for flexible or remote scheduling. Remote Data Collection Drivers are typically employed by companies involved in geographic information systems (GIS), urban planning, or autonomous vehicle development.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote data collection driver?

To thrive as a Remote Data Collection Driver, you need a valid driver's license, a clean driving record, and strong navigation skills, often supported by familiarity with GPS and mapping technologies. Proficiency with mobile data collection devices, onboard cameras, and reporting software is typically required. Attention to detail, reliability, and strong time management help ensure accurate data collection and adherence to schedules. These skills are crucial for safely and efficiently gathering high-quality geographic or survey data to support organizational needs.

What are some common challenges faced by remote data collection drivers, and how can they be addressed?

Remote Data Collection Drivers often encounter challenges such as navigating unfamiliar routes, dealing with varied weather conditions, and ensuring data accuracy while on the move. To overcome these, drivers should familiarize themselves with route planning tools, maintain regular communication with their support team, and follow best practices for data verification. Staying organized and proactive helps ensure data is collected efficiently and safely, and most companies provide training and support to help drivers handle these challenges.

Location: Mesa, AZ

JOB SUMMARY

We are hiring AI Data Collection Specialists to support an exciting project focused on improving the next generation of AI and robotics technology.

As an AI Data Collection Specialist, you will use a VR headset and mobile technology to complete simple, everyday activities while your movements are recorded. The collected data will be reviewed and used to help improve AI-powered robotic systems.

No previous AI, robotics, or VR experience is required. Paid training is provided.

PAY & BENEFITS

  • $17.00 per hour
  • Weekly performance bonus up to $170
  • Paid weekly
  • Minimum 30 hours per week
  • Paid in-person training
  • Work from home after successfully completing training
  • VR equipment provided

PAID IN-PERSON TRAINING

Training takes place in person in Mesa, AZ and is fully paid.

You must be available for 3 consecutive days of training:

9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Choose one of the following training schedules:

  • Friday, Saturday & Sunday
  • Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday

You must attend all 3 days of your selected training schedule.

IMPORTANT: INITIAL WORK SCHEDULE

After completing training, you should be prepared to work approximately 6 hours per day during the first several weeks of the project.

This initial period allows our Quality Control (QC) team to review your recorded footage and make sure you are completing tasks accurately and consistently.

Once you demonstrate that you can consistently meet the project's quality and productivity expectations, your schedule may become more flexible.

Please note: This is not a fully flexible work-from-home position from day one. A consistent time commitment is required during the initial QC review period.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

You will complete everyday household activities while wearing a VR headset. Tasks are designed to capture accurate movement data for AI and robotics development.

Activities may include:

  • Folding laundry
  • Organizing household items
  • Cleaning countertops and surfaces
  • Picking up and moving light household objects
  • Reaching, bending, and moving naturally
  • Following instructions through a mobile application
  • Repeating activities when necessary to capture quality data

The tasks are simple, but accuracy and consistency are extremely important.

You will need to perform movements in a slow, controlled, and deliberate manner while following project instructions.

Because the work involves repeated standing, reaching, bending, and movement, it can be more physically demanding than it may initially appear.

QUALITY & PERFORMANCE

Your recorded footage will be regularly reviewed by our Quality Control team.

To remain on the project, employees are expected to consistently meet established standards for:

  • Accuracy
  • Quality
  • Productivity
  • Following instructions
  • Consistency

Employees who consistently meet expectations may receive greater scheduling flexibility as they progress.

If an employee is unable to consistently meet the project's quality or productivity requirements, the assignment may be ended.

WHO MAY BE A GOOD FIT?

This position may be a great fit for people who enjoy technology and are comfortable following detailed instructions, including:

  • Gamers

  • Remote workers
  • Technology enthusiasts
  • People interested in AI, robotics, or VR
  • Individuals who are patient, focused, and detail-oriented

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must reside in Arizona
  • Comfortable using a smartphone and mobile applications
  • Reliable high-speed internet
  • Smartphone in good working condition

  • Must successfully complete an oral swab drug screen
  • Able to commit to a minimum of 30 hours per week

  • Must attend all 3 consecutive days of paid training

EQUIPMENT

VR equipment will be provided for the project.

Employees are responsible for properly caring for project equipment and returning all equipment when requested or when the assignment ends.

SCHEDULE

A consistent schedule of approximately 6 hours per day is required during the initial weeks of the project while your work is being reviewed by QC.

Employees who demonstrate consistent quality, accuracy, and productivity may have greater flexibility with their schedules as they progress.

If you're comfortable with technology, enjoy hands-on activities, and want to contribute to the development of AI and robotics, we'd love to hear from you!
