About the Role:

The Data Capture Specialist I is responsible for conducting operations utilizing drones and wheeled vehicles, various payloads, and Zeitview’s proprietary software to collect imagery for critical infrastructure.  The primary function of the incumbent is to ensure the industry leadership of Zeitview image & data capture. Aspects include safety, remote operator training, mission planning with Ops Coordinators, forecasting equipment requirements & specifications, regulatory compliance, company policy, technology development/testing, and logistical support.  Must be able to work independently in field environments.  A Data Capture Specialist may be required to help with training or other special projects when requested. 

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct operations with a high level of safety conformity in accordance with industry best practices.  
  • Complete data collection, initially focused on internal inspections of wind turbine blades, but later expanding to other inspection types on wind turbines but possible other energy infrastructure as well, to the highest standard with minimum defects.
  • Support Operations in the successful completion of data capture across multiple verticals.
  • Provide detailed and meaningful feedback to the product and engineering teams on Zeitview or other OEM technology.
  • Determine collection strategy for projects based on the requirements of the project.
  • Operate/diagnose remotely controlled apparatus in challenging conditions.
  • Maintain and publish current statuses using effective mission tools available to all stakeholders.
  • Plan and assist in the development of operations training and workflows.
  • Communicate with local stakeholders to determine operational requirements.  
  • Travel to and from remote job sites throughout the United States

Qualifications:

  • Experience conducting internal inspections of wind turbines and blades
  • Experienced with complex data capture techniques
  • Holds Global Wind Organization training certifications or willing to complete courses for them
  • Comfortable with 75% domestic travel in support of operations
  • Has a valid US passport (or are willing to get one)
  • TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) is ideal
  • Has an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate or willingness to get one after hire.
  • Capable of managing multiple tasks simultaneously while also meeting rigid deadlines
  • Experienced with implementing and managing client Scope of Work (SOW) objectives
  • Able to collaborate with multiple teams and individuals and come to a consensus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Can easily lift 50 lbs as well as sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Be willing to work at heights and can work in outside environments year-round
  • Submit to random drug screens and background checks
