Job description

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Program Director: Coding Data based in Netherlands.

This is a fully remote leadership opportunity focused on delivering complex AI and data programs for major clients and high-impact technology initiatives.
You will own the execution of a substantial portfolio of projects, turning strategic objectives into reliable, high-quality production outcomes.
The role combines technology consulting, program leadership, technical oversight, and client management in a fast-moving AI environment.
You'll work closely with senior client stakeholders, researchers, data scientists, ML engineers, software engineers, and business development teams.
A key focus will be ensuring programs meet ambitious quality, timeline, budget, margin, scalability, and security expectations.
You'll also shape responsible AI practices and help build high-performing cross-functional teams and delivery processes.
This role is ideal for an experienced technology leader who combines top-tier consulting experience with hands-on software engineering or data science expertise.

Accountabilities
  • Own the strategy, roadmap, governance, and success metrics for complex AI programs, ensuring alignment with business objectives and senior leadership expectations.
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of multiple AI and technology initiatives, including LLM-powered products, intelligent automation, analytics, and data programs.
  • Ensure projects consistently meet agreed scope, timelines, budgets, quality standards, and commercial objectives.
  • Translate ambiguous business challenges into clearly defined technical workstreams, architectures, delivery plans, and measurable outcomes.
  • Establish effective program governance, including operating cadences, steering committees, risk and issue management, decision-making processes, and executive reporting.
  • Work directly with client researchers, C-level stakeholders, product leaders, data teams, engineering teams, and other technical specialists to maintain alignment and delivery momentum.
  • Lead solution design reviews and provide technical oversight, challenging proposed approaches where necessary to ensure AI solutions are robust, scalable, secure, and production-ready.
  • Embed responsible and ethical AI principles throughout program delivery, including data privacy, bias mitigation, model monitoring, and human-in-the-loop workflows.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and strategic technology partners, including cloud providers, model providers, and systems integrators.
  • Support technical evaluations, contract-related input, partner performance management, and ongoing vendor governance.
  • Lead and mentor multidisciplinary teams including program managers, technical leads, data scientists, and engineering professionals.
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery processes, operating models, and program execution standards.
  • Work closely with Business Development to ensure successful project execution translates into strong client outcomes, long-term relationships, and revenue growth.
Requirements
  • 10+ years of experience in technology consulting, technology delivery, digital transformation, data, or related fields, including significant experience at a Big 3 consulting firm or another top-tier consultancy.
  • 5+ years of program or portfolio management experience, including leadership of large, multidisciplinary technology programs with multi-million-dollar budgets.
  • Proven track record of taking AI, data, analytics, ML, or LLM-powered solutions from conceptualization through production deployment.
  • Hands-on technical background in software engineering or data science, with strong familiarity with technologies such as Python, Java, machine learning, data platforms, and modern AI systems.
  • Ability to read and review code and provide informed technical input into architecture, engineering, and solution design decisions.
  • Strong understanding of the LLM lifecycle, including development, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical and business concepts clearly to C-level executives, clients, technical teams, and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong strategic thinking combined with a hands-on, execution-oriented approach to program leadership.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively in ambiguous environments, identify problems proactively, and introduce process improvements.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Experience leading and mentoring high-performing, cross-functional teams.
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI principles, including privacy, bias mitigation, model monitoring, and human oversight.
  • Willingness and ability to work effectively in a fully distributed, international environment.
Benefits
  • Fully remote working opportunity within Europe.
  • Full-time or contract engagement options.
  • Competitive compensation package including base salary, bonus, and ESOP.
  • Paid time off, with additional benefits varying according to location and employment arrangement.
  • IT equipment and home office allowance.
  • Opportunity to work on complex, high-impact AI and technology programs.
  • International and highly collaborative environment with colleagues and clients across multiple markets.
  • Significant leadership responsibility and autonomy over major AI delivery programs.
  • Opportunity to shape new standards and approaches in the rapidly evolving AI and technology sector.
  • Access to a diverse network of experienced technology, data science, engineering, and AI professionals.
  • Inclusive environment committed to equal opportunity and merit-based hiring.
