Job Description
The Enterprise Data & Analytics Governance Manager leads the design, implementation, and scaling of enterprise data governance capabilities that improve data quality, trust, accessibility, and business value across Brightspeed. This role partners across business, analytics, and technology teams to establish governance frameworks, stewardship practices, metadata management, and data quality programs that support governed self-service analytics and data-driven decision-making. The position plays a key role in strengthening enterprise data foundations and enabling broader transformation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Enterprise Data Governance function by defining and implementing governance frameworks, policies, standards, and operating models across the organization.
  • Establish and maintain data ownership and stewardship structures to ensure accountability for critical data assets across business functions.
  • Form, facilitate, and support Enterprise Data Governance Councils and working groups to align priorities, standards, issue resolution, and governance adoption.
  • Partner with business and technology stakeholders to embed governance practices into operational and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote enterprise-wide adoption of governance principles and foster a culture of accountability and data-driven decision-making.
  • Develop and implement enterprise data quality management practices, including monitoring, measurement, remediation, and continuous improvement processes.
  • Establish governance processes for data issue identification, prioritization, escalation, and remediation.
  • Define and track critical data quality metrics and governance KPIs to measure program effectiveness and business value.
  • Partner with business and technology teams to address root causes of data quality issues and improve data reliability across critical domains.
  • Lead the implementation and governance of metadata management capabilities, including data catalog, business glossary, and data lineage.
  • Manage enterprise business glossary and critical data elements to ensure consistent definitions and common business understanding across the organization.
  • Drive lineage and traceability across critical business processes and reporting environments to improve transparency, trust, and audit readiness.
  • Partner with data owners and stewards to improve metadata coverage, quality, and adoption across the enterprise.
  • Establish standards and processes for metadata management and catalog governance.
  • Partner with analytics and reporting teams to enable governed self-service analytics, standardized reporting, and trusted decision-making.
  • Support the development and adoption of common KPIs, business definitions, and reporting standards to reduce reporting inconsistencies.
  • Collaborate with business intelligence, analytics, and technology teams to improve accessibility and usability of trusted enterprise data assets.
  • Promote data literacy, stewardship engagement, and governance awareness through training, communications, and change management activities.
  • Prepare and deliver governance program updates, scorecards, and executive presentations summarizing progress, risks, opportunities, and measurable outcomes.
  • Monitor governance program maturity and identify opportunities to improve adoption, effectiveness, and business value realization.
  • Ensure governance initiatives remain aligned with enterprise priorities and strategic objectives.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in data management, data governance, analytics, information management, or related disciplines.
  • 7+ years of experience designing, implementing, and operationalizing enterprise data governance programs.
  • Experience establishing governance frameworks, stewardship models, data quality programs, metadata management capabilities, and governance operating models required.
  • Experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across business and technology organizations required.
  • Preferred certifications include CDMP/DAMA, DCAM, or other relevant data governance certifications.

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise data governance, metadata management, data quality, and data lifecycle management best practices.
  • Experience with enterprise data governance, metadata management, and data catalog platforms such as Atlan, Collibra, Alation, Informatica, or similar solutions.
  • Strong understanding of stewardship models, governance operating structures, and governance program maturity practices.
  • Ability to define, monitor, and improve data quality metrics, governance KPIs, and business value measures.
  • Experience enabling governed self-service analytics, standardized reporting, and trusted enterprise data use.
  • Strong analytical, structured problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent executive communication, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive organizational change and influence adoption of governance processes and standards.
  • Experience working within Agile methodologies and complex cross-functional environments.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across business, analytics, and technology teams.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data governance initiatives within telecommunications, technology, or highly regulated industries.
  • Experience enabling trusted data foundations for advanced analytics, AI, and machine learning initiatives.
  • Experience working with enterprise-scale data modernization and transformation programs.
  • Experience supporting enterprise reporting consistency through common KPIs, business definitions, and metadata standards.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions
  • Primarily office-based or remote/hybrid work environment with regular use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Occasional travel may be required based on business needs, stakeholder meetings, or enterprise initiatives.
  • Additional hours may be required periodically to support strategic initiatives, governance milestones, or executive reporting deadlines.
