Remote Data Analytics Fall Internship information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Data Analytics Fall Intern, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Data Analytics Fall Intern, you need strong analytical abilities, proficiency in statistics, and foundational knowledge of data analysis, typically gained through coursework in data science, mathematics, or related fields. Familiarity with tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, R, and data visualization platforms like Tableau or Power BI is common, and basic certification in analytics or programming can be beneficial. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving skills help interns stand out, especially in a remote environment. These skills and qualities are crucial for effectively analyzing data, collaborating virtually, and delivering actionable insights to support business decisions.

What is a Remote Data Analytics Fall Internship?

A Remote Data Analytics Fall Internship is a temporary, typically part-time position offered during the fall semester that allows students or recent graduates to work on data analytics projects from a remote location. Interns gain hands-on experience analyzing data, creating reports, and using analytical tools while collaborating with a team virtually. This internship helps individuals build valuable skills in data analysis, communication, and problem-solving, often serving as a pathway to full-time roles in data science or analytics.

What are some common challenges interns face during a remote data analytics internship, and how can they overcome them?

One common challenge is staying connected and communicating effectively with team members when working remotely. Interns may also find it difficult to access data or tools due to security protocols or lack of familiarity with remote platforms. To overcome these challenges, it's important to proactively schedule regular check-ins with your supervisor, ask for clear documentation, and leverage collaborative tools like Slack or Microsoft Teams. Building strong virtual relationships and being diligent about time management can also help ensure a productive and rewarding remote internship experience.

Job description

Rising Tide Interactive is currently accepting Media Intern applications for our paid Summer/Fall Internship Program. Our interns will have the opportunity to join us in our work with Democratic campaigns, committees, PACs, and nonprofits to develop and implement the digital strategies that win races and create change. Also: *every* internship comes with training and mentoring opportunities (this isn't a gimmick; we want to help you learn!).
As a Media Intern you will:
  • Become familiar with media planning and gain proficiency with digital ad platforms, including ad trafficking and technical support.
  • Assist in implementing digital media plans, including learning the online advertising trafficking process and maintaining vendor relationships.
  • Help track payments and invoices, and learn how to ensure digital campaigns run accurately.
  • Assist with department projects, attend webinars and other one-time duties as assigned.

The important stuff:
  • Paid internship? Yep! We pay $17.95/hour
  • You can work part-time (at least 20 hours/week) or full-time (up to 35 hours/week)
  • Summer/fall internships typically run from May 18th to December 12th, but we're flexible with start/end dates. Promotion opportunities are available for interns to become full-time permanent Associates based on mutual interest.
  • Location: This position is based in our office in Washington, DC. This position will work a hybrid schedule, with two days a week in the office and three days remotely. Candidates must reside in a U.S. state in which the company is authorized to conduct business.
  • We will provide a laptop.

Nuts & bolts:
  • Applications will be accepted until the end of the day on Friday, April 24th and must include a cover letter and resume. Final selection decisions will be communicated by Friday, May 8th.

About Rising Tide Interactive:
Rising Tide Interactive works with Democratic campaigns, committees, PACs, and nonprofits to develop and implement the digital strategies that win races and create change. Since 2011, we've worked with clients like Sens. Tim Kaine and Jacky Rosen, Voto Latino, FWD.us, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and the NAACP Legal Defense Fund. We're ready for our best election cycle yet in 2026.
Excited about this role but not sure if you meet all of the qualifications? We encourage you to apply anyway. We're always looking for talented people of all backgrounds to join our team. We prioritize creating a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming environment where everyone is empowered to do their best work. Candidates from all backgrounds, including people of color, women, members of the LGBTQ community, and people with disabilities are especially encouraged to apply.
