Job Summary
The Benefits Data Analyst supports clients and internal consulting teams by providing data analysis, financial reporting, benchmarking, and strategic insights related to employee benefit programs. This role leverages data to evaluate plan performance, identify trends, support decision-making, and deliver meaningful analytics that help clients manage costs and optimize benefit offerings.
A Day in the Life
  • Access and analyze client data to evaluate current and projected benefit plan performance, utilization trends, and financial outcomes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of client information in compliance with HIPAA and all applicable privacy regulations.
  • Partner with consultants, account management teams, and analytics colleagues to review client-specific data, identify opportunities, and develop recommendations that reduce risk and improve cost effectiveness.
  • Analyze utilization patterns, financial metrics, and industry benchmarks to support strategic planning, financial forecasting, plan design recommendations, and rate development.
  • Deliver accurate and timely reports, dashboards, and financial analyses to internal teams and clients while maintaining clear communication regarding project status and outcomes.
  • Manage access to carrier portals and third-party data systems; extract, validate, and transform data into standardized reporting formats for analysis and presentation.
  • Assist with onboarding new clients by coordinating data access, reporting requirements, implementation activities, and analytics setup.
  • Utilize analytics platforms, reporting tools, and data visualization solutions to produce actionable insights and improve operational effectiveness.
