Job description

An Industry Defining Company
Karoo is a venture-backed startup on a mission to transform cardiovascular care. Our platform is designed to empower large provider groups and health systems to succeed in value-based care contracts with payers by improving patient outcomes and reducing cost of care through better coordination, analytics, and disease management. While our initial focus is cardiology, we are building a scalable operating system for managing complex conditions across the healthcare spectrum.
This is a rare opportunity to join a mission-driven founding team at a pivotal stage and help define the future of healthcare technology, with the power to improve the lives of patients with cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death in America today.
The Role
We are seeking a Data Analyst to be the foundational member of Karoo's analytics team. You will work across clinical, operations, product, and leadership teams to deliver clear, actionable insights that drive both patient outcomes and business performance.
This is a hands-on role focused on turning data into impact: developing dashboards, metrics, and analyses that give visibility into performance, uncover opportunities for improvement, and inform strategic decisions. You'll partner closely with technical teammates who manage infrastructure and data pipelines, ensuring that the data you analyze is reliable, accurate, and ready for interpretation.
1
What You'll Do
  • Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and self-service tools that provide visibility into clinical, operational, and business performance.
  • Partner with leadership to define key metrics and KPIs and ensure they are consistently measured and reported.
  • Perform deep-dive analyses to uncover insights on patient populations, provider performance, care management programs, and payer reporting.
  • Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and product/tech teams to ensure data sources are accurate, well-structured, and accessible.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for data-driven improvements in care delivery, operations, and financial performance.
  • Contribute to building a culture of data-driven decision-making across the company.

What We're Looking For
  • 7+ years of experience in data analytics, in healthcare, healthtech, or related industries.
  • Strong proficiency with SQL and BI platforms (Looker, Tableau, Power BI, Mode, or similar).
  • Experience working with healthcare data such as claims, EHR, and operational datasets
  • Deep understanding of value-based care models, including TCoC, utilization, and outcomes measurement
  • Ability to structure ambiguous problems and translate them into clear analyses and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders through data storytelling.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment, where priorities shift and structure is still evolving.

Nice to Have:
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR) and payer & provider reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Python, R, or other scripting languages for advanced analysis.
  • Experience supporting value-based care models and payer & provider partnerships.
  • Experience with complex data warehouses, analytics pipelines, and cloud computing.

Why Join Us
  • Competitive salary and equity
  • Fully-remote work environment available
  • Full benefits package
  • A collaborative and transparent company culture that values creativity and ownership
