Job description

We are hiring a Pharmacy Data Analyst on our Pharmacy Management team at BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee!

In this role, you will support the Pharmacy Management team through the development, maintenance, and delivery of reporting and analytics that drive key business decisions. You will serve as a key resource for the Clinical Pharmacy Execution team, particularly in the development and delivery of coverage review reporting. This is an excellent opportunity to join a team that is embracing modern analytics technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities within Databricks. You will regularly leverage AI-assisted tools to support reporting, research, and validation activities while helping advance innovative approaches to analytics and decision support across the department.

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong analytical thinking, curiosity, and a desire to learn new technologies. You will be a strong candidate if you have experience with programming concepts, analytics platforms, or healthcare/pharmacy data, though a pharmacy background is not required. This team has successfully developed analysts with strong technical aptitude and a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience working with data analytics and reporting, foundational SQL knowledge, and exposure to data visualization tools such as Tableau

  • Prior pharmacy experience for a healthcare organization is a plus

  • This role supports core Eastern Time business hours (8am-5pm)

  • This is a remote, work-from-home position, but the final round of interviews will take place on-site in our Chattanooga, TN office

Job Responsibilities

  • Producing, validating, and distributing standard pharmacy reporting and/or data files to support reporting processes.
  • Collaborating with vendors and internal partners to document business requirements and validate deliverables against requirements.
  • Researching and responding to questions and change requests from business partners.
  • Assisting other analysts as needed.

Job Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelors degree in business or healthcare or relevant field or equivalent work experience required

Experience

  • 2 years - Reporting, data analysis, or similar experience required.
  • 1 year - Experience with SAS (Base, Enterprise Guide, Studio), SQL, Tableau, or similar experience with programming and/or statistical analysis required.

Skills\Certifications

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or function in a team environment sharing responsibility, roles and accountability.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Proficient interpersonal and organizational skills
