Job description

Duties Description As a Data Analyst 1, you will use your technical and analytical skills to evaluate a range of government programs and program areas including policy, procedures, operations, objectives and cost effectiveness to determine actual or potential risk. You will research, identify, and evaluate data sources to determine reliability or usability limitations, and collect, manipulate, analyze, and interpret data, and present results to supervision, covering conclusions and recommendations based on evaluations made. Minimum Qualifications To be appointed to Data Analyst Trainee 1 (equated to SG-14), you must have: A bachelor's degree or higher in Data or Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field To be appointed to Data Analyst Trainee 2 (equated to SG-16), you must have: A bachelor's degree in Data or Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field AND one (1) year of experience in Data Visualization, and Statistical Models and Data Mining tools.

OR A master's degree or higher in Data or Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. To be appointed to Data Analyst 1 (SG-18), you must have: A bachelor's degree in Data or Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field AND two (2) year of experience in Data Visualization, and Statistical Models and Data Mining tools. OR A master's degree in Data or Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field AND one (1) year of experience in Data Visualization, and Statistical Models and Data Mining tools.

OR A Ph.D. in Data or Computer Science, Informatics, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. Traineeship salary information: The position may be filled at the Data Analyst Trainee 1 equated to SG-14 ($53,764), Data Analyst Trainee 2 equated to SG-16 ($59,994), or full performance Data Analyst 1 SG-18 ($66,951) based on the candidate's education, experience, and previous state service

Salary is nonnegotiable. Candidates hired at the trainee level will be advanced to the full performance Data Analyst 1 SG-18 following successful completion of the traineeship. Additional Comments Preferred Qualifications/Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Proficient at conducting data processing, data formatting, and data analysis.

Have computer programming experience (e.g., R, Python, Java, C++). Strong critical thinking and professional judgement. Strong analytical thinker with excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong attention to detail. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to work both independently as well as collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
