What You'll Do:
  • Lead the design and delivery of innovative end-to-end solutions for the Walmart+ Membership platform by partnering with cross-functional teams across product, design, and engineering.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and translate them into scalable, high-quality solutions using Java, JavaScript, Node.js, and Python. Drive development from concept through implementation, including design documentation, requirement analysis, coding, and testing.
  • Ensure code quality and platform stability by conducting thorough code reviews, investigating application crashes, and providing hands-on support to engineering teams.
  • Drive execution across multiple initiatives byidentifyingcustomer and operational needs, tracking progress, and adjusting strategies to meet business goals.
  • Troubleshoot complex business and production issues across platforms by analyzing impact,RCA, and coordinating with support teamsandparticipateinOncallrotation
  • Design and implement observability solutions, including Splunk and Prometheus dashboards, tomonitorplatform health and backend service performance across Node.js, Java, and Python systems.
  • Champion engineering excellence and organizational values by mentoring team members, promoting best practices, and ensuring adherence to company policies, ethics, and standards.
  • Ensure businessobjectivesare met by continuously evaluating programs and initiatives, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving improvements in efficiency, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's orMaster's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience in full-stack software development with hands-on coding in multiple languages such as JavaScript, Node.js, Java, and Python
  • Strong experience building scalable backend systems and distributed platforms
Preferred Experience:
  • Proven experience designing and developing features for large-scale applications using Java- and Node.js-based services
  • Solid understanding of writing unit tests to ensure robustness, including edge cases, usability, and overall reliability
  • Experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or DevOps practices is a plus
  • Familiarity with AI-powered developer tools such as ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot, and Claude to enhance development productivity and automation
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features
  • Strong debugging skills with experience in bug fixing and improving application performance
  • Experience integrating with external data sources and APIs
  • Hands-on experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
