  • You will perform cyberspace threat analysis by developing cyberspace indicators to maintain awareness of the status of the highly dynamic operating environment.
  • You will architect and direct information from various sources including security logs, internal network traffic, deep/dark web forums, and commercial threat intelligence feeds.
  • You will collect, process, and disseminate cyberspace threat and warning assessments.
  • You will provide tipping and queuing from a variety of sources and disciplines including Human Intelligence (HUMINT), Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT), Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), and public resources.
  • You will assess the effectiveness of collections in satisfying priority information gaps, using available capabilities and methods, and then adjust collection strategies and collection requirements accordingly.
  • You will monitor operational environment and report on adversarial activities which fulfill leadership's priority intelligence requirements (PIR).

  • This position requires a periodic polygraph examination.
  • This position may require a two-year DCIPS trial period requirement.
  • Travel required for contingency/exercise support, briefings, conferences, and trainings.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
  • Must meet qualification requirements of the specialty area assigned as delineated in Appendix 4 of SECNAV 5239.2; see Additional Information section.

Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GG/GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following such as :
  1. Apply frameworks such as the MITRE ATT&CK (Adversarial Tactics, Techniques, and Common Knowledge) matrix, security logs, and virtualization products (e.g., VMware, Virtual PC) to monitor and defend network infrastructure;
  2. Analyze diverse cyberspace threats, campaigns, and vulnerabilities by evaluating the specific tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs) of state-sponsored groups, organized crime, and hacktivists.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.

This position has been identified as Mission Essential (ME) due to the specialized capabilities that have influence on the mission or operation of the organization.
The incumbent may be required to serve as a watch officer required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
This position is designated as a DOD Cyber Workforce Framework position, with the primary cyber work role of 111 All-Source Analyst proficiency level Advanced and additional cyber work role of 312 All-Source Collection Requirements Manager proficiency level Advanced. As a condition of employment, the incumbent of the position is required to obtain and maintain qualification in accordance with DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Management Program, February 15, 2023 and is supporting Department of Navy policies.
This designation requires the incumbent to:
  1. Obtain the foundational qualification within nine months and the residential qualification within 12 months of appointment and maintain those credentials as described in DoDM 8140.03 for DCWF work roles and proficiency levels as documented on the coding sheet. For more information, please review DoDM 8140.03 and supporting DON policies.
  2. Participate in continuous professional development program as described in DoDM 8140.03. An annual 20 hour minimum of Cyber Workforce related continuous professional development must be documented and completed in a current individual development plan signed by both the employee and supervisor. Continuous professional development begins in the fiscal year after the employee has obtained both foundational and residential qualification requirements.
  3. Acknowledge responsibilities in writing via command designation letter.
