Indirect tax is critical to how ERM operates globally-impacting compliance, pricing, and business operations. This role plays a key part in ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and regulatory alignment across multiple tax jurisdictions, while building the next generation of tax expertise within the organization.

You will contribute directly to the integrity of ERM's indirect tax processes by supporting compliance, strengthening documentation, and enabling informed business decisions. Your work will help reduce risk, improve data accuracy, and support audits and reporting across North America and beyond-while building the foundation for more advanced tax responsibilities.
What You'll Bring:
• Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Tax, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in indirect tax, tax compliance, or a related finance function
  • Working knowledge of sales and use tax or similar indirect tax filings
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Excel and ability to work with large data sets
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and work collaboratively in a structured environment

• Preferred
  • Exposure to consulting or services-based organizations
  • Knowledge of Canadian GST/HST/PST frameworks
  • Experience with tax engines or sales tax software
  • Familiarity with multi-state or international tax considerations
Key Responsibilities:
  • Support preparation and filing of indirect tax returns including sales & use tax, gross receipts tax, and similar filings
  • Assist with property tax returns, business license filings, and related compliance activities
  • Partner with senior team members on indirect tax audits by gathering data, preparing schedules, and coordinating responses
  • Conduct taxability research and document findings across various indirect tax areas
  • Provide indirect tax inputs to proposal and pricing teams
  • Maintain tax documentation, working papers, and internal process guidance
  • Prepare tax residency certificate requests (Form 8802) and track submissions
  • Compile and submit Census reporting (quarterly and annual)
  • Support estimated tax calculations (e.g., PBBIT) and tax payment processing
  • Maintain tax account reconciliations and rollforward schedules
  • Respond to internal stakeholder requests for financial and tax-related data
  • Perform periodic reviews to ensure completeness and accuracy of tax filings
  • Stay current on regulatory changes and proactively flag updates to the team
