Join a team that powers everyday impact.

Quill, a proud member of the Staples family of brands, is looking for an Inside Sales Account Manager to grow and manage a portfolio of business customers across North America. In this role, you’ll build meaningful customer relationships, uncover new opportunities, and help businesses find the products, programs, and solutions they need to run smoothly. This is a strong opportunity for someone who enjoys consultative selling, thrives in a performance-driven environment, and wants to make a measurable impact with a trusted brand.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers and build long-term relationships that support retention and growth.
  • Manage an established book of business through consistent pipeline discipline, account planning, and productivity.
  • Drive sales and profitability within existing accounts by identifying customer needs and recommending relevant solutions.
  • Make outbound sales calls to engage customers, expand relationships, and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Educate customers on Quill products, programs, consolidation opportunities, and value-added services.
  • Collaborate with internal business partners to maximize account potential and deliver an easy, seamless customer experience.
  • Conduct meaningful sales conversations with high-value customers to increase sales across categories.
  • Review account performance, revenue analytics, and profitability to support financially sound sales decisions.
  • Identify under-penetrated product categories and develop strategies to grow year-over-year revenue and gross profit.
  • Consistently meet or exceed productivity metrics, activity goals, and key performance indicators.

What you bring to the table:

  • Motivation to build customer relationships that create measurable value and growth.
  • Clear, confident communication with customers and internal partners across calls, follow-up, and solution-focused conversations.
  • Curiosity and strong listening skills to understand customer needs, ask thoughtful questions, and uncover opportunities.
  • A problem-solving mindset with the ability to connect customer needs to relevant products, programs, or solutions.
  • Comfort making outbound calls, engaging customers, and continuing forward after rejection or setbacks.
  • Strong organization, time management, and follow-through when balancing customer conversations, priorities, and activity goals.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn quickly as customer needs, business priorities, or sales approaches change.
  • A customer-first approach focused on creating a positive, helpful, and professional experience in every interaction.
  • Collaborative mindset with a willingness to share ideas, apply feedback, and learn from managers, peers, and business partners.
  • Composure and critical thinking when prioritizing next steps, solving customer challenges, and supporting sales goals.

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience.

What’s needed - Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of sales, account management, customer service, or other relevant business experience.
  • Experience managing customer accounts, building pipeline, or supporting revenue growth.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office, CRM tools, or sales productivity systems.
  • Experience conducting outbound calls or virtual sales conversations.

The salary range represents the expected compensation for this role at the time of posting.  The specific base pay may be influenced by a variety of factors to include the candidate's experience, skill set, education, business considerations, geography, and internal equity.   Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements.
