Remote Custom Drapery Workroom information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Custom Drapery Workroom professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Custom Drapery Workroom professional, you need expertise in sewing, fabric handling, and drapery design, often supported by experience in textiles or interior design. Familiarity with sewing machines, pattern-making software, and remote collaboration tools is typically required. Strong attention to detail, time management, and effective communication with clients and team members are standout soft skills. These skills ensure high-quality, custom-made products and seamless project delivery in a remote work environment.

Remote custom drapery workroom professionals often work closely with interior designers and clients through virtual consultations, design meetings via video calls, and regular email or phone updates. They review fabric selections, measurements, and design specifications digitally, using shared documents or design software. Clear communication and timely updates are essential to ensure the finished product meets client expectations. Collaboration tools and cloud-based project management platforms are commonly used to streamline workflows and maintain transparency throughout the production process.

What is a remote custom drapery workroom?

A remote custom drapery workroom is a business or service that specializes in designing, fabricating, and finishing custom window treatments such as drapes, curtains, and shades, typically operating offsite rather than in a retail storefront. These workrooms collaborate with interior designers, decorators, or directly with clients to create window coverings tailored to specific measurements, styles, and fabric selections. Communication, design approvals, and order management are handled remotely, often through email, phone, or online platforms, allowing for flexibility and a broader client base.

  • Manage and optimize the ATS, and surrounding tech stack, ensuring data accuracy, workflow efficiency, and compliance. Lead vendor management, system enhancements, reporting, integrations, and user training.
  • Oversee the opening of all job requisitions and assist hiring managers and other People team members in using and optimizing the ATS for shared recruiting processes (e.g., job evaluations, interviews, offer letters, and onboarding transition).
  • Maintain the companys Careers page and external job postings to maximize applicant flow and candidate engagement. Maintain and amplify the TSS brand through consistent messaging and candidate experience strategies.
  • Monitor recruitment analytics and deliver regular dashboards and insights to leadership.

Recruiting & Sourcing

  • Own recruitment for Sales and Corporate roles as an individual contributor, and own or oversee recruitment for other strategically important positions as needed.
  • Build strong talent pipelines using both traditional and AI-enabled tools to increase reach, speed and quality of candidates.
  • Directly manage and mentor one field recruiter, providing coaching, workload oversight, and professional development.
  • Allocate recruiting resources efficiently to meet hiring targets and support organizational growth, including by onboarding contract or external recruiters as-needed.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-performance recruiting culture.
  • Ensure that recruiting processes comply with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner closely with hiring managers and People Business Partners to help define selection criteria, and interview processes; provide counsel to hiring managers and PBPs on job requirements, screening strategies.
  • Communicate clearly with business leaders on search progress, risks, and market insights.
  • Support workforce planning and headcount forecasting.

  • Demonstrated success sourcing and filling salaried and hourly positions.
  • Curious mindset and comfort with leveraging AI and emerging technologies to improve workflow and productivity.
  • Strong expertise in ATS management and reporting. Experience with Fountain ATS a plus.
  • Proven ability to build and execute recruiting strategies at multiple levels.
  • Willingness to be hands-on and flexible with roles and responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of relevant employment legislation and compliance requirements.
