Job Summary:
The Virtual Success Coach provides instructional support to students with and without disabilities at UCP Virtual Immersive Learning Academy, a fully online learning environment under the supervision of a Florida-certified teacher. This role supports students' ongoing academic progress and engagement across instructional settings by assisting with the implementation of instructional programs, facilitating small-group instruction, and monitoring student performance toward IEP goals. The candidate must have access to reliable high speed internet. This position is primarily remote; however, occasional in-person travel may be required for state-mandated testing, professional development, or other school-related activities.
Responsibilities
Instructional Support & Student Learning
  • Serve as an instructional facilitator in the absence of an instructor
  • Supports the delivery of specially designed instruction aligned to IEP goals under the direction of a certified teacher, while reinforcing student access to grade-level curriculum through approved accommodations and instructional supports
  • Assists with synchronous and asynchronous learning activities to promote student engagement and mastery
  • Facilitates small-group instructional support and targeted interventions as assigned by the supervising teacher
  • Supports differentiated instruction using evidence-based strategies and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) principles
  • Reinforces evidence-based reading instruction and instructional strategies aligned to Florida standards
  • Uses approved curriculum and supplemental instructional resources, as directed, to meet individual student learning needs in accordance with school policies

Assessment, Data & Progress Monitoring
  • Collects, organizes, and documents student data, observations, and work samples to support monitoring of progress toward IEP goals
  • Supports teachers in using assessment data to personalize instruction, guide interventions, and support student mastery
  • Assists with preparation of students for required assessments and standardized testing
  • Assists with administering assessments, progress monitoring, and data collection within the learning management system
  • Maintains accurate instructional documentation and student records as assigned

MTSS, PBIS & Special Populations Support
  • Supports implementation of PBIS- and MTSS-aligned academic and behavioral interventions
  • Reinforces Tier 1 instruction and assists with Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions in collaboration with instructional staff
  • Assists teachers with the development and implementation of IEPs and Section 504 Plans, including drafting instructional supports, implementing accommodations, and documenting progress
  • Adheres to IDEA, Section 504, ADA, Florida statutes, and school policies applicable to the role

Virtual Learning Environment & Student Engagement
  • Supports the establishment and maintenance of routines, expectations, and procedures for virtual learning
  • Reinforces a structured, inclusive, and engaging online learning environment
  • Promotes positive student behavior, attendance, and active participation in virtual settings
  • Family & Learning Coach Communication
  • Builds and maintains positive relationships with families and parents/learning coaches
  • Supports consistent communication regarding student progress, instructional supports, accommodations, and interventions, as directed by the supervising teacher
  • Assists families with instructional questions and virtual learning routines in alignment with school policies

Professional Responsibilities
  • Participates in virtual staff meetings, collaborative planning, professional development, and school events
  • Supports timely completion of special education documentation and compliance-related tasks as assigned
  • Demonstrates professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to deadlines and organizational expectations
  • Upholds ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and professional conduct

Education and Training:
  • Associate degree or 2 years of college

Minimum Experience:
  • 3+ years of blended and/or virtual experience, including students with and without disabilities
  • Experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, including students with IEPs, Section 504 Plans, and English Learners
  • Demonstrated experience with virtual classroom management, student engagement strategies, and small-group instructional support
  • Experience with educational technology, learning management systems, virtual platforms, and digital instructional tools
  • Working knowledge of online curriculum, assessment systems, data privacy requirements, and instructional compliance
  • Experience monitoring, analyzing, and using student performance data to support instructional decisions and targeted interventions
  • Ability and willingness to apply innovative and creative approaches to problem-solving and instructional support
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with teachers, school staff, and administrators
  • Strong time management, organizational, adaptability, and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced virtual environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional communication with families and Learning Coaches
  • Demonstrated empathy, cultural responsiveness, professionalism, and reflective practice
