Job description
Hill Crest Counseling Services is actively seeking an experienced and empathetic Licensed Mental Health Counselor to provide dedicated mental health support to those who have experienced trauma. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely, allowing you to provide critical care while balancing the other aspects of your personal life.
About the OrganizationAt Hill Crest Counseling Services, we pride ourselves on our commitment to creating a safe haven for individuals impacted by trauma. Our outpatient services focus on a specialized approach to mental health, particularly in helping clients navigate challenges associated with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. We believe in fostering a supportive environment where healing can occur, and we are dedicated to employing proven methodologies and compassionate care to empower our clients on their recovery journeys.
Work EnvironmentThis position is remote, allowing flexibility in your workspace while ensuring you remain connected to an interdisciplinary team. Our community health clinic is dedicated to a collaborative, team-oriented atmosphere where therapists and healthcare professionals work together to provide holistic care. You will engage in regular virtual meetings with colleagues to discuss cases, share insights, and develop best practices in trauma-informed care.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to understand patients' histories and identify tailored treatment approaches.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on both trauma recovery and resilience-building strategies.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate healing.
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping clients process their trauma, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and foster a sense of community in their recovery.
- Work closely with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to ensure a cohesive and integrated care approach for all patients.
- Provide crisis intervention and support during trauma-related emergencies, demonstrating quick-thinking and profound empathy.
- Educate patients and their families on trauma responses, available resources, and effective coping strategies.
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with legal standards and ethical practices.
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and continuing education to enhance your skills in trauma-informed care.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and trends in trauma therapy to continuously improve patient care.
Your work will focus primarily on individuals who have experienced trauma and related disorders, which may include children, adolescents, and adults from diverse backgrounds. Our goal is to cultivate a compassionate therapeutic relationship that fosters trust, enabling clients to openly discuss their challenges and work diligently toward healing and recovery.
Qualifications- A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
- Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPC, or LCSW in the state of Colorado.
- Proven track record of 2 years of post-licensure experience in a related field.
- Comprehensive knowledge of trauma-related disorders and treatment modalities, along with strategies for resilience building.
- Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, complemented by a compassionate and understanding perspective.
- Capability to maintain composure and effectiveness in high-stress scenarios.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in various computer applications.
- A collaborative spirit, ready to engage as part of a multidisciplinary team.
While two years of post-licensure experience is required, preference will be given to candidates who have additional experience in trauma-focused settings or have specialized training in relevant therapeutic modalities. Any involvement in professional development related to trauma-informed care will also be advantageous.
Compensation and BenefitsThe salary for this position ranges from USD 90,000 to 110,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We also provide an extensive benefits package that includes:
- Comprehensive healthcare benefits, ensuring your physical and mental well-being.
- A retirement savings plan with employer-matching contributions to help secure your future.
- Generous paid time off (PTO) along with holiday pay to promote work-life balance.
- Professional liability insurance coverage for peace of mind in your practice.
- Opportunities for continuing education and support for ongoing professional development.
At Hill Crest Counseling Services, we are committed to nurturing your professional journey.
