Job description

Job Title : Windchill SME Consultant

Location: Spring, TX M+F Remote - Hybrid
Position: 1 yr+ contract with possibility of conversion/extension

Overview-

We are seeking an experienced Windchill SME Consultant to support enterprise-level PLM initiatives and guide clients through the design, deployment, and optimization of Windchill solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in Windchill configuration, customization, and integration, along with strong client-facing experience.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for PTC Windchill, advising clients on best practices, system architecture, and solution design.
  • Lead and support Windchill implementations, upgrades, and enhancements across the full project lifecycle.
  • Configure, customize, and optimize Windchill modules based on business and engineering requirements.
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot integrations between Windchill and external enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, CAD, MES, or custom applications).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, IT, and business stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.
  • Conduct requirements gathering workshops, technical assessments, and solution demos with external clients.
  • Provide expert-level support, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for complex Windchill environments.
  • Create technical documentation, integration specifications, testing plans, and client training materials.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5 10 years of hands-on experience with PTC Windchill PLM.
  • Strong expertise in Windchill configuration, customization (Java, Info*Engine, workflows), and system administration.
  • Proven experience designing and delivering integrations between Windchill and other enterprise systems.
  • Solid understanding of CAD data management, product structures, workflows, and PLM best practices.
  • Experience working directly with external clients in consulting or professional services environments.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with REST/SOAP APIs, middleware tools, or enterprise integration platforms.
  • Familiarity with related systems such as Creo, SAP, Oracle, or other PLM/ERP/CAD platforms.
  • Windchill or PTC certifications.
