This role is entirely remote, offering the flexibility to work from the comfort of your own space while serving clients primarily in Santa Ana, California, and surrounding areas. As a telehealth provider, you will utilize cutting-edge digital platforms to conduct evaluations and counseling sessions, ensuring that quality care is accessible to all clients regardless of their location. • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in real-time via telehealth sessions, assessing clients' needs for 5150/5585 applications for potential involuntary detentions.
• Skillfully assist and train law enforcement personnel in managing mental health emergencies, focusing on de-escalation techniques to prevent escalation and promote safety.
• Offer immediate, short-term crisis counseling to individuals who are experiencing non-violent mental health episodes, ensuring that they feel heard and supported.
• Maintain precise and confidential documentation of all patient interactions, adhering to best practices in record-keeping and data protection.
• Communicate regularly with law enforcement agencies, crisis services units (CSU), medical staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate care and improve patient outcomes.
• Participate in telehealth responses alongside law enforcement to address relevant mental health incidents effectively.

Your primary clientele will include arrestees and community members facing acute mental health crises. This may include individuals at risk of harm to themselves or others, as well as those experiencing transient mental health disturbances. You will play a critical role in connecting these individuals to supportive services, local mental health clinics, and emergency shelters, thereby enhancing community health and well-being.

• Possession of an active license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in California.
• A Bachelor's degree in psychology, social work, or a related field is required, with advanced degrees or certifications preferred.
• Strong multitasking abilities and effective prioritization skills, essential for managing multiple cases simultaneously.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, necessary for engaging with clients and collaborating with stakeholders.
• Professional demeanor with the ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations.

• Previous clinical experience, particularly in psychiatric or crisis intervention settings, is highly advantageous.
• Experience coordinating care with law enforcement or in community mental health settings is a plus.
