Job Description
Brakes Plus is looking to fill a Help Desk Representative (Tier1) position. We are looking for a person with interest to grow and learn about different technologies. Position includes responding to phone calls and e-mails from internal employees with technical questions. We require basic experience with computers and components. Looking for an eager person wanting to learn. The Help Desk Representative will provide basic Tier 1 technical assistance to computer system, components, users, and answer questions or resolve technical problems for employees via telephone from a remote location. This includes providing assistance concerning the point of sales system, and internal website. Will work to delegate HelpDesk tickets outside Tier1 (Helpdesk), to Tier 2 (IT) as needed. The Help Desk responds to and is governed by IT leadership.
  • You are expected to be available to work nights and weekends in alignment with the predetermined on-call schedule.
  • You must be proficient in use of computers and software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, File Explorer, Microsoft Windows, Etc.

Qualifications
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily performance of computer systems. Report problems back to Tier2 (IT) as needed.
  • Answer user inquiries to resolve problems.
  • Observe computers systems and networks are functioning properly, looking for errors and bugs. Reporting any issues back to Tier2.
  • Set up equipment for employee use, performing or ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment, following design or installation specifications.
  • Assist in other area of the IT team when needed.
  • Customer service orientation-proactively assist employees in a professional, friendly manner in order to create the best possible experience by building relationships, understanding quality standards for service, and utilizing customer needs assessments
  • Communication-express ideas clearly in both written and verbal correspondence, listen effectively, and share information appropriately with persons inside and outside the organization
  • Dependable-be reliable, responsible, and utilize good judgment in fulfilling obligations

Qualifications
• High school or equivalent (Preferred)
• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)
• US work authorization
• Basic experience with computer and network components fundamentals
