REMOTE TAX ACCOUNTANT

LedgerGurus is looking to hire a part-time Tax Accountant for our accounting team! Do you have strong tax experience, but don't want the stress of tax season? Do you enjoy working with a variety of clients in diverse industries? Are you looking for an opportunity to work part-time from home with a very flexible schedule? This part-time tax position earns a wage of $40-$48/hour. We need an experienced accountant to come in and build out our pre-existing income tax service. The schedule will require 40 hours a week from January to May, but then only 15 hours a week for the rest of the year. This is not a traditional, crazy tax season role. This will be a calmer environment with a lot of autonomy, flexibility, and support as we build out our small income tax client base. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A REMOTE TAX ACCOUNTANT

We need an experienced Tax Accountant to come in and build out our existing Income Tax service. They will be responsible for completing income tax services for existing clients from January to May. The rest of the year will be used to maintain ongoing work for the team, building out processes, and becoming an integral part of LedgerGurus services. Using your leadership and strategic thinking skills, this Tax Accountant will be able to build this tax service over time to become an income tax powerhouse at LedgerGurus.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR A REMOTE TAX ACCOUNTANT

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance
  • Active Enrolled Agent credential
  • 6+ years of tax accounting experience
  • Ability and confidence to communicate accurate accounting details to clients and coworkers
  • Ability to work 40 hours a week from January 1-May 31 every year

An active CPA licensed is preferred. Previous leadership or team lead experience is a plus.

WORK SCHEDULE

The remote Tax Accountant is a part-time role that is normally around 15 hours a week. This would require 3-4 hours of availability during normal business hours for meetings and client communication. Additional work can easily be done outside of normal business hours if desired. We do require 40 hours a week from January 1- May 31 for income tax filings. All of our employees work remotely from home 100% of the time!
