What are remote creative writers?

Remote creative writers are professionals who craft original written content such as stories, articles, scripts, or marketing materials while working from a location outside of a traditional office. They often collaborate with clients, editors, or creative teams using digital tools and communication platforms. This role allows for flexibility in work environment and schedule, making it suitable for those who prefer or require remote work options.

What are some common challenges faced by remote creative writers, and how can they be effectively managed?

Remote creative writers often face challenges such as maintaining self-discipline, managing time effectively, and overcoming creative blocks without the immediate support of an in-person team. To address these challenges, it helps to establish a structured daily routine, set clear goals, and use collaboration tools to stay connected with editors and other team members. Regular virtual check-ins and feedback sessions can also provide valuable support and foster a sense of community, even when working remotely.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote Creative Writer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Creative Writer, you need strong writing, research, and storytelling abilities, typically supported by a background in English, journalism, or communications. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), collaboration platforms like Google Workspace, and SEO tools is often required. Exceptional time management, creativity, and self-motivation set outstanding creative writers apart, especially when working independently. These skills and qualities are crucial for consistently producing engaging content, meeting deadlines, and effectively collaborating with remote teams.

Job description

Having recognized the advantages of remote work, such as improved employee morale, increased productivity, and positive impacts on both employee wellbeing and the environment, we are proud to be a digital-first company. Our digital-first work environment, combined with our conveniently located offices and collaborative workspaces, provides our team with the freedom and flexibility to work in the most productive way for them.

About us

Tecsys is a fast-growing innovator offering supply chain solutions to industry leading healthcare systems, hospitals, and pharmacy businesses to distributors, retailers, and 3PLs. We work with industry leaders to transform their supply chains through technology. If you thrive on tackling interesting challenges with continuous learning opportunities, then Tecsys could be a good fit for you!

About the Role

We are looking for an intern for a period of 4 months to carry out a paid internship in the research and development department.

Our Research and Development department is currently in the midst of a migration to the cloud and is looking for a talented, motivated and creative software development intern to lend a hand. In this position, you will have the chance to participate in stimulating projects with tangible impacts in the healthcare sector: our logistics systems are used from the warehouse to the operating room. You will be part of a Scrum team that emphasizes continuous improvement of practices and teamwork. You will develop in an AWS ecosystem in which we optimize the potential of new cloud architectures. Finally, you will have the opportunity to learn from experienced architects and developers for whom having fun while working is not an option.

You will be responsible for:
  • Improve the various deployment and integration tools using containers (Docker)
  • Participate in the design and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines
  • Employ test-driven development (TDD) techniques
  • Develop test automation strategies
  • Perform code reviews on the work of your peers
  • Participate in team scrum meetings: planning, analysis and retrospectives
  • Collaborate with the team to improve continuous integration techniques and processes

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Willingness to work in a DevOps team
  • Good knowledge of scripting language
  • Knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodology
  • Must be a logical, organized person with good interpersonal skills and must be able to work well under pressure
  • Must have excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Studying computer science or computer engineering in university
  • Strong proficiency in both written and verbal English communication essential for effective correspondence with clients, suppliers, business partners, and colleagues beyond the province of Quebec.

Knowledge of the following technologies would give you an edge

  • SQL, JDBC
  • Vscode
  • Java programming language
  • Build and deployment tools (Maven, Docker, Jenkins, Gitlab CI)
  • Amazon Web Services (ECS, EC2, RDS, etc)
  • Linux server platforms

We understand that experience comes in many forms and that careers are not always linear. If you don't meet every requirement in this posting, we still encourage you to apply.

At Tecsys, we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees feel valued, respected, and empowered. We believe that diversity drives innovation and strengthens our ability to deliver exceptional solutions. We welcome and encourage applicants from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives to join our team.

Tecsys is an equal opportunity employer. Accommodation is available for applicants selected for an interview.

NB: if you are applying to this position, you must be a Canadian Citizen or a Permanent Resident of Canada, OR, have a valid Canadian work permit.
