General ThermoDynamics is seeking a high-impact Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth across key industrial markets. This role is ideal for a results-driven “hunter” who excels at building new relationships, expanding market share, and delivering technical solutions in complex environments.

While Houston, TX is preferred, this position is open to candidates residing anywhere in Texas for the right individual.


Position Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a critical role in expanding our presence across mission-critical industries, including power generation, data centers, defense, rail & locomotive, and oil & gas. You will lead market development efforts, identify new opportunities, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver value-driven solutions to customers.


Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities across targeted industries
  • Build and execute strategic plans for market expansion and revenue growth
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with engineering, procurement, and executive stakeholders
  • Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape to inform strategy
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, and Marketing to deliver customized solutions
  • Own and manage the sales pipeline, including CRM updates and accurate forecasting
  • Maintain a robust 12-month opportunity pipeline aligned with growth objectives
  • Represent General ThermoDynamics at trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of business development or sales experience
  • Demonstrated success in a “hunter” sales role with consistent achievement of growth targets
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
  • Strategic mindset with analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and Microsoft Office

Preferred:

  • Experience selling engineered or technical products into industrial markets
  • Established network within engineering and procurement organizations
  • Familiarity with heat transfer equipment (radiators, oil coolers, HVAC systems, etc.)
  • Understanding of engine cooling and thermal management systems
