What is a remote creative content developer?

A Remote Creative Content Developer is a professional who creates engaging written, visual, or multimedia content for digital platforms while working from a location outside of a traditional office. Their work may include writing articles, designing graphics, producing videos, or managing social media content. These developers collaborate with teams and clients virtually to ensure content aligns with brand goals and audience needs. Remote Creative Content Developers use digital tools to communicate, share files, and manage projects efficiently. This role requires creativity, strong communication skills, and proficiency with various content creation software.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote creative content developer?

To thrive as a Remote Creative Content Developer, you need strong writing, editing, and storytelling abilities, often supported by a background in communications, marketing, or a related field. Proficiency with content management systems (CMS), graphic design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, and SEO best practices is typically required. Creativity, self-motivation, time management, and effective virtual communication set standout professionals apart in remote environments. These skills ensure the consistent delivery of engaging, high-quality content that drives audience engagement and meets organizational goals from a distance.

How does a remote creative content developer typically collaborate with team members while working from different locations?

Remote Creative Content Developers usually rely on a mix of collaborative tools such as project management software, cloud-based document sharing, and regular video meetings to stay connected with their team. Job description

Our Mission
ButterflyMX is on a mission to empower people to automate property access, operations, and security from a single platform. Our products are installed in more than 20,000+ multifamily, commercial, gated communities, and student-housing properties worldwide, including properties developed, owned, and managed by the most trusted names in real estate. Our features are designed for developers, owners, property managers, and tenants, and our products lower operating costs and improve tenant satisfaction.
Our Solution
Developers and owners no longer need to run building wiring or install in-unit hardware. Property managers can grant building access, revoke permissions, and review entry logs from an online dashboard. Residents can open doors from their smartphones, issue visitor access, and see who is trying to enter the building.
Our Culture & Values
Fantastic people are the key to our success. As a distributed, primarily remote workforce, we're looking for more intelligent, passionate, collaborative, ai-forward, and down-to-earth individuals to join our growing team. We're driven by a shared commitment to excellence and innovation, grounded in our core values: We delight our customers, We take ownership, We are a community of collaborators, We speak up, We think big and do small, and We are tenacious.
Role Overview
ButterflyMX is looking for a Creative Content Strategist to join our marketing team and help shape the future of our content ecosystems across a diverse range of B2B2C touchpoints. We need a modern strategist who can connect customer pain points and cultural insights across channels and teams, and leverage advanced A.I. workflows to turn them into scalable and automated growth engines for property managers, owners, and residents alike.
This is a hybrid role: part creative visionary, part systems architect, part growth hacker. Working at the intersection of marketing, content, and A.I. systems. You will help define our next generation of content and creative frameworks that guide our messaging across all our communication channels, including our website, social media, digital advertising, print, and OOH. You will collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, sales, and product teams to create compelling, value-based narratives, and then leverage paid and non-paid channels to amplify that messaging.
As the Creative Content Strategist, you will focus largely on high-impact initiatives and automated architecture. You must have a deep understanding of how to connect creativity with A.I. to automate content creation across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities
  • Conceptualize and deliver high-impact campaigns with clear value propositions that resonate with our diverse B2B2C audience, from real estate developers, owners, and property managers to residents, vendors, and visitors.
  • Gather and analyze performance data, customer feedback, and buying signals to pivot our creative strategy based on data.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to understand technical updates and translate them into intuitive, value-driven content narratives.
  • Partner with the marketing team, to ensure seamless execution, platform-native formatting, and consistency.
  • Leverage existing and new A.I. tools and workflow builders to efficiently execute, produce, and scale your creative concepts without sacrificing brand voice or quality.
  • Design distribution flywheels that maximize asset leverage, ensuring every core piece of content organically amplifies our reach.

Requirements
  • 3-5 years of experience in B2B content strategy, growth marketing, SEO/GEO, and digital audience development, preferably at P/E backed companies.
  • Proven experience successfully leveraging LLMs (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) for automated and scalable content creation.
  • Working experience using workflow automation tools such as Zapier, n8n, MESA, or Workato to automate content creation and distribution.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot, WordPress, Salesforce, Google Suite, and other common workplace software.
  • Experience or strong familiarity with B2B2C content and marketing best practices and frameworks.
  • Track record of distributing across multiple channels, including WordPress, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, Vimeo, social, and email.
  • Data literacy with a demonstrated ability to collect, analyze, and interpret metrics and conversion data on Google Analytics and Ahrefs to inform creative decisions.
  • Exceptional collaborative and communication skills, with experience managing stakeholders cross-functionally.
  • Proven experience leveraging AI tools in professional settings. ButterflyMX is an AI-forward organization, and the ability to optimize efficiency using AI is crucial in every role.
Compensation
The expected base salary range for this position is $70,000-$85,000. Actual compensation will depend on factors including budget, skills, experience, location, and internal equity. This position may also be eligible for bonuses, equity, or other forms of compensation, where applicable.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive Medical (ButterflyMX covers 90% of the cost), Dental, and Vision plans (ButterflyMX covers 100% of the cost) starting day 1
  • 401(k) plan with a match
  • 13 paid holidays, 25 PTO days
  • Paid Family Leave
  • Employee Assistance Program
  • Quarterly self-care stipends
  • Access to optional benefits including pre-tax flexible healthcare spending accounts (FSA and HSA), Dependent Care FSA, and Commuter Benefits, as well as optional Supplemental Life, AD&D, Hospital Indemnity, Disability, Legal, Accident, Critical Illness, Pet, and Personal Liability Insurance
  • And more!

ButterflyMX is an equal opportunity employer and we value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. You must have the authorization to work in the US to become an employee. We strive to create an accessible and inclusive experience for all candidates and employees. If you need reasonable accommodations during the application or the recruiting process, please let our recruiting team know.
