Remote Copywriting information

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in the Remote Copywriting position, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote Copywriter, you need strong writing, editing, and research skills, along with a keen understanding of digital marketing principles and branding. Proficiency with tools like Google Workspace, Grammarly, SEO platforms, and content management systems (e.g., WordPress) is often expected. Excellent time management, self-motivation, and clear communication are vital soft skills in a remote environment. These qualities ensure copy is compelling, accurate, and delivered efficiently, supporting effective collaboration and the achievement of business goals.

Is ChatGPT taking over copywriting?

ChatGPT and similar AI tools are increasingly used to assist copywriters by generating drafts, ideas, and content suggestions, but they do not fully replace the need for human creativity, editing, and strategic thinking in copywriting roles. Many remote copywriters leverage these tools to improve efficiency and focus on more complex tasks, making AI a complement rather than a substitute in the profession.

Are copywriters still in demand?

Yes, copywriters are still in demand as businesses continue to prioritize content marketing, advertising, and digital communication. The role often requires skills in SEO, storytelling, and familiarity with content management tools, and remote work opportunities are widely available.

Remote copywriters may work as freelancers, contractors, or full-time employees for a company.

Can you work as a copywriter remotely?

Yes, remote copywriting is common in the industry, allowing writers to work from any location with internet access. Many companies and freelance opportunities offer flexible schedules and require skills in writing, editing, and familiarity with tools like Google Docs or content management systems.

What does a typical workday look like for a remote copywriter?

As a remote copywriter, your day usually involves researching topics, brainstorming ideas with marketing teams, and writing or editing various forms of content such as blog posts, ads, or website copy. You may attend virtual meetings, collaborate via email or messaging platforms, and use project management tools to track assignments. Deadlines and priorities can shift, requiring adaptability, but the remote nature of the job also allows for flexible work hours. Regular communication with editors or clients is key to aligning your work with the brand’s voice and objectives, making organization and proactive updates essential for success.

Can you make $10,000 a month with copywriting?

Remote copywriters can potentially earn $10,000 or more per month, especially with high-value clients, specialized skills, and a strong portfolio. Achieving this income level typically requires experience, effective marketing, and the ability to handle multiple projects or high-paying assignments. The Opportunity:
Booz Allen is looking for a Senior Copywriter who leads with persuasion and lands ideas with precision. Someone who can write a headline that stops a scroll and a brand campaign that leaves a lasting impression.
This role exists because we need sharp, distinctive marketing that positions Booz Allen as a modern technology brand. You'll translate complex products and capabilities such as defense tech, cyber, AI, and emerging tech, into copies that connect with real audiences and shape how the market sees us. Advertising is the anchor, but this role extends to any moment when copy shapes perception. Short form, long form, digital, or print, you will move between all of it without losing the thread.
We're looking for talent who brings fresh creative instincts and a portfolio that proves it. You'll be an individual contributor working alongside marketers, strategists, designers, and subject matter experts to shape campaigns that matter. Due to the nature of work performed within this facility, U.S. citizenship is required.
What You'll Work On:
  • Write high-impact copy for digital and print advertising such as display ads, paid social, email, out-of-home, and print, where every word earns its place.
  • Develop headlines, taglines, and CTAs that stop scrolling, build brand affinity, and drive engagement.
  • Lead copy development across integrated campaigns such as digital ads, out-of-home, landing pages, and email.
  • Write across short and long-form with equal command.
  • Generate fresh campaign concepts that challenge conventional approaches and elevate Booz Allen's brand presence.
  • Apply a clear understanding of audience psychology and what resonates with a senior decision-maker.
  • Translate highly technical subject matter into compelling, benefit-driven messaging without diluting it.
  • Partner with design and art direction to develop cohesive, high-impact creative.
  • Align messaging to brand priorities across awareness and engagement, including reach, recall, share of voice, and audience engagement.
  • Partner with digital and marketing teams to understand how copies are landing and refine accordingly.
  • Treat audience and campaign data as creative feedback and act on it.
  • Work across marketing, content strategy, and internal stakeholders from brief through post-campaign evaluation.
  • Collaborate with design to ensure copies and visuals reinforce each other.
  • Manage multiple campaigns simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Leverage AI-enabled tools to accelerate ideation and workflow without sacrificing editorial rigor.

Join us. The world can't wait.
You Have:
  • Experience in marketing copywriting, including with brand awareness campaigns
  • Ability to display a portfolio showing ad copy alongside longer-form campaign work
  • Ability to translate complex, technical subject matter into clear, compelling messaging
  • Ability to work cross-functionally in fast-moving, deadline-driven environments
  • HS diploma or GED

Nice If You Have:
  • Experience using AI tools to accelerate ideation, drafting, and creative exploration while maintaining a strong editorial voice
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including for reviewing design comps and working within templates alongside creative teams
