The Automation Controls Engineer is responsible for assisting with developing automated machinery and processes in all stages of the design lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and service. The individual participates in the control system design that includes BOMS, Electrical drawings in SolidWorks Electrical, and software code. This is a job that requires travel to other Resonetics sites for 10% - 25% of the year.

Responsibilities
  • Develop automated machinery and processes in all stages of the design lifecycle including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and service.
  • Write controls software applications on various system platforms (e.g. motion controller, servo motors, pneumatic controls, machine vision engines, laser scanner, part handling, automatic inspection, etc.).
  • Startup control systems and debug.
  • Create documentation such as user manuals, programming diagrams, I/O diagrams, and electrical schematics.
  • Check software and designs into Sharepoint and QCBD quality software.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
  • 1+ year of experience with Automation Controls.
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar field.
  • Able to use tools such as oscilloscopes and digital volt meters for development/debug.
  • Experience programming PLCs and HMIs
  • Experience with industrial controls systems
  • Working proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, SharePoint, MS Teams

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with programming/setting up vision inspection equipment.
  • Experience with drawing electrical prints.
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics.

Physical Demands
  • May need to access tight space inside system enclosures.
  • Able to objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have a passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • 10% - 25% travel or as needed.

Compensation
The compensation for this role is competitive and will be based on experience and qualifications. The anticipated range is $56,000-$84,000.
