Description

Delavan Holdings is seeking a hands-on Controller to help lead and scale a growing Shared Services Accounting organization supporting multiple operating entities across a diversified portfolio of businesses.

This is a high-impact leadership role responsible for overseeing consolidated financial reporting, month-end close operations, accounting process improvement, and leadership across Accounting, Payroll, and Accounts Payable functions.


The ideal candidate is both strategic and operational - someone comfortable leading teams while still diving into reconciliations, consolidations, reporting, and process detail when needed. This role is best suited for a builder-minded accounting leader who thrives in fast-moving, multi-entity environments where structure is actively being created and improved.


This position reports directly to the Director of Tax & Shared Services Accounting and works closely with executive leadership across the organization.

What You'll DoFinancial Reporting & Consolidation
  • Build and manage consolidated financial reporting processes across all Delavan Holdings entities
  • Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial packages including:
    • Consolidated P&L
    • Balance Sheet
    • Cash Flow Reporting
  • Oversee intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
  • Establish reporting calendars and close timelines across entities
  • Improve financial visibility and reporting consistency across the organization
Accounting Operations & Close Management
  • Oversee month-end and year-end close processes across multiple legal entities
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Support external audits, financial reviews, and lender reporting requirements
  • Maintain chart of accounts governance and accounting system integrity
  • Oversee fixed assets, capitalization policies, and depreciation schedules
Team Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day leadership to Accounting, Payroll, and AP management teams
  • Serve as the primary escalation point for operational accounting issues
  • Drive accountability through structured follow-up, ownership, and communication
  • Support hiring, onboarding, development, and performance management activities
  • Build scalable SOPs, controls, and process documentation
Compliance & External Partnerships
  • Coordinate with external CPA firms, auditors, and financial institutions
  • Support tax compliance activities across operating entities
  • Ensure payroll tax compliance and year-end reporting accuracy
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement operational updates as needed
Systems & Process Improvement
  • Lead or support accounting system implementations and process improvements
  • Improve workflow efficiency, reporting accuracy, and scalability
  • Support GL mapping, reporting structure alignment, and data integrity initiatives
  • Reduce manual processes through operational improvements and automation opportunities

Requirements


Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • 3+ years of accounting leadership or management experience
  • Multi-entity accounting experience required
  • Strong understanding of:
    • GAAP
    • Consolidations
    • Intercompany accounting
    • Financial statement preparation
  • ERP/accounting system experience
  • Advanced Excel proficiency
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
  • CPA license or active CPA candidacy
