The Energy team is seeking an Electrical Engineer to provide technical SCADA design and execution for renewable energy and power delivery projects throughout the Midwest and western United States.ย 

As an Electrical Engineer in DEA's Energy Business Unit, you will provide technical SCADA design and execution for renewable energy delivery projects related to substations, collector systems, and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). You will develop designs for all supervisory control and data acquisition aspects, create control schematics, logic diagrams, and wiring drawings, and develop settings for each piece of SCADA equipment. You will collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, sharing knowledge and leveraging each other's technical abilities. This position includes growth opportunities for professional advancement, leadership, and increased responsibility.ย 

The location for this hybrid-friendly position is flexible with a preference for individuals who are based near one of DEA's offices in California, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, Texas, Utah, or Washington. Fully remote may be considered depending on circumstances. Some travel for project execution may beย required.ย 

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Exemplify DEA's Cultural Drivers internally and externally.ย 
  • Conceptual and detailed development of substation SCADA design.ย ย 
  • Develop supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) systems for renewable energy and utility clients.ย 
  • Prepare points list of all data to be transferred between control centers and controlled apparatus.ย 
  • Assign and program data addressing and routing information.ย 
  • Construction and commissioning start up support.ย 
  • Develop and configure SCADA system settings and parameters.ย 
  • Provide technical mentoring to project team members and support calculations required for design.ย 
  • Offer office support during project construction, including RFI responses, submittal reviews, and commissioning troubleshooting.ย 
  • Promote effective team working relationships and maintain the technical quality of work.ย 
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university in electrical engineering.ย 
  • Four (4) + years of applicable industry experience.ย 
  • Registered Professional Engineer.ย 
  • Familiarย with substation and power system integration.ย 
  • Familiar with SEL RTAC and SEL/GE protective relaying communication needs.ย 
  • Familiar with DNP/Modbus and other protocols.ย 
  • Proficient with HMI and SCADA softwareย 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Seven (7) + years of applicable industry experience.ย 
  • Highly proficient with HMI and SCADA software.ย 
  • Experience in CAISO and ERCOT areasย 
  • Experience working with contractors in Engineer-Procure-Construct (EPC) delivery format through project commissioning.ย 
  • Experience delivering professional services for renewable energy owners or developers.ย
