Job description

Contracts Manager

Role Mission:

The Contracts Manager will serve as the liaison between the Procurement and Contracts Department and all stakeholders regarding matters of vendor agreements. The Contracts Manager will play an integral role in ensuring that all agreements are reviewed for commercial and legal terms and identifying the proper approval workflows before execution. This role will coordinate with Procurement, Legal, Risk Management, and Executive Signatories to maintain compliance with IDEA company policy.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly manage Procurement Analyst and Purchasing Clerk

Location:

This is a full-time remote position based in Texas with preference given to candidates who live in Austin, El Paso, Houston, Permian Basin (Midland/Odessa), Rio Grande Valley, San Antonio, and Tarrant County (Fort Worth), or who are willing to relocate.

Travel Expectations:

Travel to IDEA training events or step-back may be required.

What You'll Do - Accountabilities

Essential Duties:

  • Maintain and monitor matrix of Clerk and Analyst workflow queues to ensure weekly/monthly goals are being met.
  • Flag/report critical tickets pending signature and facilitate next steps where applicable.
  • Lead the weekly tactical meeting with Legal and Risk Management to identify priorities and answer questions.
  • Compile all contracts for submission to Board of Directions for approval or ratification.
  • Collaborate with larger Procurement organization to ensure the best value of goods and services are achieved with all vendor agreements.
  • Lead the training process for stakeholders during contract renewal windows.

Additional Duties and Responsibilities:

Assist the Director of Procurement and Contract Services with assessments for overall spending attached to contracts
Maintain database of contracts in Tyler Munis
Maintain dashboard to track workflow of Zendesk ticket queues

Required Education and Experience:

Education: Bachelors degree in Business Management, Administration, or related. 10 Years of experience in Procurements/contracts in lieu of education.
Experience: 3+ years in a role managing a team with direct experience in Contract Management

Preferred Education and Experience:

Education: Masters degree in Business Management, Administration, or related, preferred
Experience in public education, specifically charter schools, preferred
Experience with Tyler Munis, Zendesk, and Contract Lifecycle Management systems preferred

Physical Requirements:

The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations
The ability to work in extreme weather
The ability to carry 40 pounds (potentially during travel)

Salaries for people entering this role typically fall between $74,700 and $87,100, commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications and in alignment with internal equity. This role is also eligible for performance pay based on organizational performance and goal attainment.
