Job description

OGC is a boutique research and consulting agency specializing in data-driven strategy, quantitative analytics, and Customer Experience (CX) program design and optimization. We work with some of the world's largest organizations across a variety of industries, including Financial Services, Specialty Retail, Telecommunications, Hospitality, and Software, helping them gain a deep understanding of their customers, develop actionable insights, and improve business processes.
Our client is a global leader in the Consumer Packaged Goods industry, with a focus on delivering data-driven insights that support commercial decision-making and business growth. Their Growth Analytics team develops dashboards and reporting solutions used by senior leadership across the organization. They are seeking a Data Liaison to bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical development teams, ensuring reporting solutions accurately reflect business needs and industry metrics.
This is a 6-month remote contract with the potential for extension.
About the Role
The ideal candidate is analytical, commercially minded, and an exceptional communicator who enjoys translating business needs into actionable data requirements. You will work closely with business stakeholders, insights teams, and analytics developers to ensure dashboards and reporting solutions are built using the correct business logic, calculations, and data sources.
This role is ideal for someone with experience in business analytics, commercial insights, or consumer insights who understands both the language of the business and the language of data. should be comfortable working closely with technical teams, translating business requirements into technical specifications, and validating data before it reaches senior leadership.
You'll also play an important role in helping the analytics team build a stronger understanding of the business, enabling them to become increasingly self-sufficient over time.
Responsibilities Include
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, insights teams, and analytics developers, translating executive requests into clear business requirements, data specifications, and analytical approaches.
  • Review dashboards, calculations, and reporting logic before release, ensuring the correct business logic, methodologies, metrics, and data sources (including syndicated datasets such as Nielsen) are used while proactively identifying and resolving reporting inaccuracies.
  • Participate in business and executive reporting discussions to understand business priorities, reporting requirements, and how data is used to support decision-making.
  • Document business metrics, calculation methodologies, and data source guidance to establish consistent reporting standards and best practices.
  • Coach and mentor analytics developers to strengthen their understanding of business metrics, commercial context, and reporting expectations, with the goal of enabling greater independence over time.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reporting processes, strengthen communication between business and technical functions, and develop scalable documentation and best practices that enhance the long-term capability of the analytics team.

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in Business Analytics, Commercial Analytics, Consumer Insights, Market Research, Strategy, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience within Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail, or a similar commercial environment is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with syndicated data sources, particularly Nielsen, with the ability to determine the most appropriate data source for different business questions.
  • Strong understanding of retail and commercial performance metrics, including velocity, points of distribution, market share, merchandising, pricing, and related KPIs.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to validate data, calculations, business logic, and reporting accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into clear guidance for technical and analytics teams.
  • Experience collaborating with analytics, BI, engineering, or dashboard development teams in a cross-functional environment.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience with business intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar reporting tools is advantageous.
  • Technical coding or dashboard development experience is not required; however, the ability to engage credibly with technical teams is essential.
