Certified Medical Coder – Inpatient/Outpatient (Remote)

Remote (Supporting North Chicago, IL VA Facility)

About the Role

Allmed Staffing is seeking experienced Certified Medical Coders to support inpatient and outpatient coding operations for a VA federal health care facility. We are filling 6 full-time remote positions for a steady, long-term contract engagement (base year plus four option years).



Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM Central Time
  • Fully remote — work from home via secure VPN access
  • Full-time equivalent: 2,080 hours/year
    
    Compensation
  • $32.00/hour
  • Weekly or bi-weekly direct deposit
  • Paid holidays, vacation, and sick leave
  • Continuing education units (CEUs) covered for credential maintenance
    
    Requirements
  • Active certification from AHIMA (RHIT, CCS, or CCS-P) or AAPC (CPC)
  • Minimum 3 years of continuous coding experience at a large-volume hospital or health system
  • Proficiency in ICD-10-CM (diagnosis coding) and ICD-10-PCS (inpatient facility procedure coding)
  • Proficiency in CPT, Evaluation & Management (E/M) level coding, and HCPCS
  • Experience with Cerner and/or 3M/Solventum encoder software preferred
  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Ability to pass a federal background investigation (National Agency Check)
  • Fluent English (spoken and written)
