Job description

Codeworks, an LRS company, is seeking a Infrastructure Engineer for a contract position. In this position you will design, implement, maintain, and optimize enterprise infrastructure solutions that support organizational reliability, scalability, performance, and security objectives. This role will play a key part in advancing cloud infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), containerization, automation, and hybrid cloud networking initiatives.

The Infrastructure Engineer will serve as a technical leader for infrastructure automation and cloud-native technologies while collaborating with infrastructure, application, and operations teams to deliver secure, resilient, and efficient technology solutions.
This position is 100% remote

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Terraform and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Design, develop, and maintain standardized, reusable Terraform modules, templates, and governance frameworks.
  • Establish and enforce infrastructure coding standards and best practices.
  • Manage infrastructure state files and support secure deployments across multi-account AWS environments.
  • Develop and maintain automated infrastructure deployment and configuration processes.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, or similar platforms.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, validation, security controls, and deployment processes.
  • Support continuous integration and continuous delivery initiatives across infrastructure and cloud environments.
    Architect, implement, and support container orchestration platforms utilizing AWS EKS, ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, and related technologies.
  • Establish standards and processes for container security, image management, registry administration, and deployment automation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to support adoption of containerized application architectures.
  • Provide guidance and technical recommendations for modernization and migration initiatives.
  • Design, maintain, and optimize hybrid cloud environments supporting on-premises and cloud-based services.
  • Manage AWS networking services, including:
    • Transit Gateway
    • Route 53
    • Direct Connect
    • Virtual Private Cloud (VPC)
  • Ensure secure, reliable, and highly available connectivity between enterprise systems and cloud resources.
  • Support network performance optimization, monitoring, and troubleshooting activities.

The base range for this contract position is $50.00 -$75.00 per hour, depending on experience. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hires of this position across all U.S. locations. Individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors.
