DIRECTOR OF ACCOUNTING - REVENUE & TECHNICAL ACCOUNTING Now recruiting on behalf of a mid-sized, east-coast based technology company for a highly skilled Director of Revenue & Technical Accounting. The company offers remote flexibility, is PE-backed, in growth mode, and has a great culture, wonderful leadership team, and competitive compensation package. The Accounting Director of Revenue and Technical Accounting will lead complex revenue recognition, contract accounting, and technical accounting initiatives within a dynamic, service-based organization.

This individual will serve as the subject matter expert on ASC 606 and accounting for multi-element service offerings, partnering cross-functionally to support growth while ensuring financial integrity, compliance, and scalability. Other responsibilities include: Own and manage all revenue recognition and contract accounting processes, including interpretation and application of ASC 606 across complex service arrangements Serve as the organizationโ€™s technical accounting expert, leading research, drafting accounting memos, and guiding the business on evolving standards and policies Oversee month-end and year-end close processes related to revenue, including audit support and financial statement disclosures Partner with Sales, Legal, FP&A, and Operations to review contract structures and ensure appropriate accounting treatment and revenue alignment Lead accounting integration efforts related to M&A activity, including revenue implications and purchase accounting considerations Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements, including working with third-party partners on system migrations and optimization Strengthen internal controls, streamline revenue processes, and enhance reporting accuracy and efficiency Act as a key liaison with external auditors and advisors on technical accounting matters The right candidate for this Director of Revenue & Technical Accounting role will have: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required 10+ years of progressive accounting experience, with deep expertise in revenue recognition and technical accounting Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and experience with complex, service-based revenue models Proven ability to translate technical accounting guidance into practical business application Experience leading audits and managing accounting close processes Background in public accounting (Big 4 or national firm) Experience in information governance, digital services, or other regulated service environments Knowledge of ASC 805 and M&A-related accounting ERP experience, with NetSuite strongly preferred Track record of establishing scalable, standardized revenue recognition processes Proven ability to drive automation and system improvements across accounting operations History of job stability and career progression.
