Job description

TELUS Health is empowering every person to live their healthiest life. Guided by our vision, we are leveraging the power of our leading edge technology and focusing on the uniqueness of each individual to create the future of health. As a global-leading health and well-being provider - encompassing physical, mental and financial health - TELUS Health is improving health outcomes for consumers, patients, healthcare professionals, employers and employees.

Join our pension implementation team where you will be the technical bridge between complex pension laws and the software that executes them. You will not just be analyzing requirements; you will be hands-on, actually configuring the internal software to match the specific calculation rules of clients across North America. You'll spend your time translating dense financial rules into technical specs and then partnering with QA teams to make sure every amount is calculated perfectly.
This is a high-stakes role where you will act as the primary link between the client's needs and the project team's delivery. Once the system is live, you will transition into a subject matter expert providing critical support to ensure everything runs smoothly. Ultimately, you are the person responsible for ensuring the software does exactly what the pension plan promises. It is a great opportunity to build an incredible amount of versatility in Defined Benefit pension administration in a short window of time.

What You'll Do:

  • Perform detailed analysis of our clients' Defined Benefit pension plan calculation rules

  • Act as the link between the client and the project team in terms of pension plan calculations

  • Configure in-house software to suit the specifics of the client's pension plan

  • Write specifications according to the needs and requests of the clients regarding new developments of the software

  • Ensure the proper integration of the software with other software that will be implemented for the client

  • Participate in the development of the specific testing strategy for software configuration and new developments

  • Participate in the review of test scenarios with the selection criteria required by the plan

  • Provide support to the quality assurance team

  • Collaborate in the development of the software by providing suggestions for improvement to the responsible team

  • Once the implementation is complete, provide customer service to users to ensure effective management of the software

What You Bring:

  • University degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics or finance

  • 5+ years' experience in Defined Benefit pension administration, consulting and/or implementation

  • Ability to understand and use current computer technologies and a good knowledge of Excel software

  • Recognized, among other things, for analytical and summarizing skills, sense of organization and flexibility in terms of managing multiple projects

  • Good initiative and problem solving skills

  • Ability to work both as a team and independently

  • Ability to establish priorities and meet timelines

  • Available to travel occasionally (Canada, US)

Salary Range: $70 000,00 - 100 000,00 CAD

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, even if the posted salary range doesn't match your expectations. We're open to discussing competitive compensation packages tailored to your experience level and expertise.

Job Type: This is for a current vacancy.
